Mega World's Night Market

If you're looking for a place to stroll at night, then the Mega World situated at the Upper East of Bacolod is one of the best place for that here. Aside from malls, fast food chains, condo and hotels, there are still a lot of spaces left that the management are leasing to small time business owners. Those food trucks, kiosks and coffee stalls attracts more people also to visit the place.

The place is spacious and literally, it could be having a world on its own. You have it all here if you're living in this area. Well, of course, aside from schools and hospitals but there are institutions located nearby. Even so, it's still a good place to live if you have the money because the prices here are for the elites.

If you're on a budget, there's one thing that this place has to offer. It is their picnic grounds and the Night Market, where you can buy affordable foods and stuff.

On this blog, let me share a peek of those scenarios happening in the Night Market. We happen to pass by here one night when we ate at a food chain outside. To digest the food before going home, we decided to stroll and look for a while.

Going here, you can either enter via the front road in between Lopue's Bowling Center and McDonalds, there's also a way near the Chinese temple or at the back street going to the bus terminal, depending on where you are coming from there are ways to make your route shorter if you know which way to go here.

The starting point of the bazaar was beside the McDonalds where there are spaces for people to stay and also, the most famous spot here wherein the Upper East House stands with the "I LOVE BACOLOD" sign. From there, they showcase different artworks like paintings, action figures, stickers, handcrafts and merchandises.

If I only have an extra money left, I would have bought one from those. Sadly, I prioritized foods before all of these stuff. Now, I could only admire their artworks but couldn't pocket some for a souvenir.

For the main entrance to the night market, it is located beside the hotel and the Lander's store. They occupy half of the way for it. Upon entering the place, you could find here variety of selections of clothes, artworks, other materials and foods. I even see here a stall with ornamental plants and pots of flowers. If you are a certified Plantita or Plantito, then you shouldn't skip this place if you're from around here.

Well, in a bazaar, clothes, home supplies, toys, foods and books are given, even for plants, but the most surprising things that I've seen that was sold in there was weapons. I saw long swords there for cosplay, real knives, local weapons and cutting materials. Then, there was also a stall selling different types of air guns. I'm not sure if that is okay to sell those things openly in public, but I guess so, since they were permitted to station there.

I'm in awe as we check those things. I've never seen some of those weapons before, but I've seen one that was even prohibited to carry in pubic. I think the name was tres kantos, it's a type of a knife and they have also ice-picks. Literally, it's those kind of weapons that you can see on suspicious people on dark alleys.

We walked to the end of the night market and check on some more items and foods, but then after a few minutes of staying on the food section, I couldn't take the strong smell of condiments. I felt dizzy with all the strong spices that used in cooking there from stalls which was mixed up in the smoke scattered widely in the area.

It was great to know that Bacolod is now open to things like this. Before, you could only experience Night Markets and Bazaars during the Masskara Festival and most of it was placed on the City Plaza. Anyway, it was fun though we left empty handed since I walked out of there immediately to get rid of the strong smell.

If I could go back and buy one of the products available, I would buy one of those knives and hide it secretly on my bag for protection. Lol.
