MY LAND JOURNEY BEGINS

Hello Splintermates and fellow Hiveans,

After playing splinterlands for more than 3 years almost everyday, finally my land journey begins. This time I will become a newbie again in the world of splinterlands lands. At some point in our splinterland journey we play ranked battle less and play on others way, as @goldmatters keep saying their are different ways to play splinterland. Neither ranked battles, lands, or being investor holding DEC or SPS and staking it or providing liquidity.

I started this journey because i was hype by @jeffopenscards buying his second region at 40,000.00 USD. Also watching @infidel1258 talking bout land leasing where the whale @azircon leasing him some unused land.

So i decided why not own atleast 1 plot even if it is common.

4 REAL REASON WHY TO OWN LAND

If you have been playing splinterlands, watching townhall and lurking on twitter . I am sure you are aware that the direction of land development was applaudible. Land owners now have the opportunity to craft thier owned product to be sold in the market.

1. LAND OWNER

You can proudly say to yourself you owned splinterland lands even atleast 1 common. You can always add on that once your perception land has the clarity.

2. MIDNIGHT POTION

Midnight potion was the first land owner crafted product that was been sold in the market.

Imagine that spending 1648000 DEC and credits on conclave arcana presale and you don't have midnight potion that doubles the chance of getting a black foil card. So end up buying on the market on high price around 90-100 DEC per potion and you need 5 potion per pack. The introduction of black foils and midnight potion gives value, chase and hype all together. So having land and crafting your own product for consumption would be sustainable as you need this when a new set will be on the market. This is one of the surprise a gift from splinterlands team. KUDOS...

With the chaos legion set moving to wild format. I got some cards that will be going to be idle specially i intend to play in modern. So using them as land workers might be ideal. Or delegate to my Alt account and let the minixbot play it.

3 MY LAND JOURNEY BEGINS

Today May 05, 2021 my land joutnery begins. This morning i see a land plot listed on the market and the owner @demon19 looks familiar. So i contacted her if i can buy it P2P and yes she sold to me her 3 plots . She sold me 2 everfall plots at 13500 DEC each and the one in tiding she sold me for 13000 DEC. Yeah i got a discount. Aside from discount i got some tips to her as i am a complete newbie on land .

So bought this 3 plots . One that was previously developed and 2 still undeveloped. With her tips i try to reactivate the first plot at tidings that is for me to familiarize how land works.

STEPS IN REACTIVATING THE SOLD PLOT TO ME:

The plot was been previously setup to mine or farm SPS

1. Need to activate the worsite. So i need to buy power core per plot at 5000 DEC cost or used runi
   
2. Provide a worker. I got 2 copies of maxed common gold foil pelacor mercenary so i used the one copy. I will dd some worker soon once i have the grasp of how land works

3.Staked 10,000 DEC per maxed worker . That means i need to stake more DEC if i add some workers.

Now finally i got one land active and running but not sure if the process i did is wright or wrong. That means i still need to do a lot of trial and errors.

The 2 undeveloped land i will activate it 2-3 days after i see some results or need some adjustment.

SUMMARY

With @splinterlands team giving some attention to land and land direction is having a clarity. I believe land is in early stage. Midnight potion was one of the first land owner crafted product that become a neccessity in opening conclave arcana packs due to the introduction of black foils. Althoug land is quite complicated to a newbie that even playing splinterlands for more than 3 years i still needed some guidline just to activate a single plot.
I think the future of splinterland lands still a far to be seen and there might be a lot of surprises.
