Splinterlands - Oridum Graybrow, the legendary Walking Burner

With the recent release of the Conclave Arcana expansion on May 13th, many units have shown what they are capable of in many battles, defeating some powerful units such as Venka and Mantaroth. In the fire element, there is one legendary unit that stands out above the rest, the human Oridum Graybrow.

Oridum Graybrow is currently available on the market for $11.78 per BCX. And a gold level 2 costs $126.72. When opening Conclave Arcana packs, you have a 0.8% chance to get a legendary card, and when using legendary potions, the chance is doubled. With the Conclave Arcana Legendary pack, you have a 100% chance to get a legendary card, but this pack costs $24.

And to get a black foil variant, the chances are even lower, this chance is doubled when using Midnight Potions, which currently cost $0.027 for the cheapest. Alchemy packs have a higher chance to obtain them: Standard packs: 0.025%, Alchemy packs: 0.25% , Legendary packs: 0.125%.

Oridum Graybrow

Oridum Graybrow is a legendary melee unit of the fire element. At max level, he reaches an attack power of 4, has a health of 5, and has 6 armor points, which helps him withstand some physical attacks. Plus, he has a speed of 4. But what make this card special are his abilities.

Abilities

Oridum Graybrow at level 1 only has one ability, which is Thorns, which deals 2 physical damage to enemy melee units that attack him.

At level 2, Oridum gains a new ability that only a few Conclave Arcana units have, the Resurgence ability, which allows him to reappear in the battle when defeated, with full health and armor. And what makes this ability even more interesting, is that Oridum will resurrect clean of negative debuffs, and all of his buffs will be reapplied. Due to this effect, Oridum cannot attack for 1 turn, and will deal 1 physical damage to all units.

At level 3, Oridum gains two abilities, Piercing and Magic Reflect. The Piercing ability allows Oridum to deal the reamining damage to the target's health if Oridum's attack power exceeds the target's armor.

And the Magic Reflect ability, as its name suggests, reflects the magic that enemy units inflict on him. The attacking magic units, will take 50% (rounded up) of the damage dealt.

Finally, at level 4, Oridum will gain the Spite ability, which currently only 2 other units have, Heloise the Hollow and Desolation. This ability allows him to perform a final attack against the enemy unit that defeats him.

This is a battle where Oridum Graybrow shows what he is capable of, damaging the melee and magic enemies thanks to his thorns and magic reflect abilities. And with the abilities granted to him by the dragon archon, which make him a real threat.

Best Archon Ally

The archon Sheng Xiao, is definitely the best to summon Oridum, as Sheng can give him the Poison Burst and Corrosive Ward abilities. The Poison Burst ability, will allow Oridum to apply Poison to the enemy unit that defeats him, and also a 50% chance to give poison to units adjacent to the attacker. Since Oridum can ressurect thanks to his Resurgence ability, the Poison Burst ability can be activated twice per battle, causing enemies to lose -2 health at the start of each round.

And the Corrosive Ward ability, will allow Oridum to reduce the max armor and armor of the enemy melee unit attacking him by 2. This combines well with his thorns ability, damaging armor first and then health points.

Oridum Graybrow variants

Currently there are only 6 players who have the Black variant, as the chances of obtaining them are very low. These black variants grant a 20% bonus in ranked battles.

And there is only one player who has the Black Arcana variant of Oridum Graybrow, and no more can be obtained since only one was available, making this card unique.
