Hello everyone, this time I will be participating in this Splinterlands Challenge, where I will be showing you a battle in the modern ranked league, one of which, melee units will not be allowed on the battlefield

First, let's talk a little bit about Tinderlock, a ranged unit from the Riftwatchers edition, most powerful when he is the only one on his team, and one of the units I will be using in this battle.

Source

Tinderlock is a 10 mana unit, he has a ranged attack power of 4, pretty good, and has considerable hit points. He doesn't have any armor, but he has 4 abilities that make him very useful in battles.

Tinderlock starts at level 1 with the LAST STAND ability, which only activates when Tinderlock is the only living unit in his team, gaining 50% to all stats and current health (rounded up).

He also has the CLOSE RANGE ability, which allows him to attack from the first position since he is a ranged unit.

At level 4 he gains the SILENCE ability, which passively reduces the magic attack power of all enemy units by 1.

And at level 7 he gains the DEATHBLOW ability, which allows him to deal double damage to his target when the enemy unit is the only one left on his team.

WEAKNESSES

Some abilities that are great against Tinderlock are:

Since Tinderlock is a 10 mana unit, units with the GIANTKILLER ability deal double damage to him.

Units with the RETURN FIRE ability are very good against ranged units like Tinderlock, as they deal damage equal to 50% of the damage the ranged units dealt (rounded up).

HOW TO OBTAIN

Available on the Marketplace. At the time of writing this post, a max level Tinderlock costs $11.38 (each BCX $0.10) and a level 1 costs around $0.11.

BATTLE

There are three modifiers active this time. The first is the Weak Magic modifier, which causes all magic units to deal damage to armor first instead of health. Also, as I mentioned at the beginning, only ranged and magic units will be allowed to be summoned due to the Keep your Distance modifier. Finally, all units except those in the frontline position, will be forced to attack the enemy unit with the lowest health due to the Equal Opportunity ruleset.

This time the mana limit is 52, so I can use some high mana units without problem.

In this battle, my summoner will be Risqruel Drath, so I will be able to summon fire and earth units. It will also grant my ranged units +1 ranged attack and all of my units will have the flying ability, allowing them to have a 25% extra chance to evade melee and ranged attacks from non-flying enemy units. Additionally, I choose the left-tactic of Risqruel to give the Impede and True Strike ability to my Goblin Psychic and Countess Sinash, now they can slow down enemy units with every attack and they won't miss any attack.

In the first position is Grimbardun Smith, currently the most used unit in modern ranked battles. He has the Immunity ability, so he cannot be affected by negative effects such as poison. In addition, he takes 50% less damage from all types of attacks thanks to his Void and Shield abilities. And, in addition, he also repairs 2 points of armor to an ally each round.

In the second position, Mycelic Slipspawn, which will draw the attention of enemy backline units, forcing them to attack it before my other units due to its Taunt ability. If Slipspawn would take damage from attacks higher than 5, it will instead only take 1 damage. Additionally, it will reduce the speed of enemy units by 1.

Tinderlock in the third position, ready to destroy some enemy units.

Goblin Psychic in the fourth position, will health my frontline unit each round. In addition, its attacks has a 50% chance to apply affliction to the target, preventing them from healing; and a 100% chance to apply Dispel, removing all positive buffs. And passively, this Goblin reduces the magic attack of all enemy units by 1.

In the fifth and sixth position, I summoned two more ranged units, Supply Runner and Countess Sinash, both of which will increase the speed of their allies by 1. And Runner will also grant +1 health to the allies. Sinash cannot be attacked directly due to her Camouflage, and her attacks can apply Affliction, and she also has the Blast ability.

In the first round some units were damaged but none were defeated. But in the second round, the enemy IIdri Fyre is defeated by my Supply Runner, who in turn is defeated by the Return Fire ability. And due to IIdri's Redemption ability, my Countess Sinash is also defeated, taking 1 damage for it. After that, my Mycelic Slipspawn destroys the enemy Runner.

In the third round, all my units except Goblin took damage. And in the fourth round, Tinderlock defeats the enemy Lava Launcher.

In the fifth round, Doctor Blight applies poison to my Goblin Pyshic and at the start of the fifth round, my Goblin dies from the poison.

From the sixth to the eighth round, no unit was defeated. But in the ninth round, my Slipspawn defeats the enemy Grimbardun Smith. And, Doctor Bligh poisons Slipspawn.

In the tenth round, Tinderlock defeats the enemy Moxian Rebel, and in the ninth round my Slipspawn is defeated by the poison effect.

In the twelfth and final round, Tinderlock deals double damage to Doctor Blight, defeating him and ending the battle.

Full battle

In this battle I played 3 ranged units to take full advantage of Risqruel's +1 ranged attack, and some units that are more resistant to protect them.

The opponent used Jacek as a summoner, which greatly increased the speed of his units, and allowed them to attack randomly, thus destroying almost all of my backline units, but luckily Tinderlock survived, being my only unit capable of defeating the remaining enemy units.

With Grimbardun Smith in the frontline protecting him, Tinderlock was able to destroy 3 units, ending the battle.

That's all for now guys, if you haven't played Splinterlands yet, you can join with my referral link. See you on the battlefield!
