Hello everyone, this time I will be participating in this Splinterlands Challenge, where I will be showing you a battle in the modern ranked league, one of which, all units will not have the Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity abilities.

In this battle the protagonist will be Sarius, a ranged gladius unit that thanks to its Poison ability, my lineup was able to defeat Djinn Oshannus who was constantly being healed by a support unit.

Source

Sarius starts at level 1 with only a ranged attack power of 2, and the Bloodlust ability, a unique ability that all gladius units have, and that only 6 non-gladius units have. This ability grants the unit +1 to all stats whenever it defeats an enemy unit.

At level 5, Sarius has a ranged attack power of 3, and gains the Poison ability, which allows her to have a 50% chance to apply Poisoned after a successful attack to the enemy unit, which, if applied, will cause it to lose 2 health at the start of each round.

And at max level (8), Sarius gains a ranged attack power of 4.

I don't have Sarius at max level yet, but I have her at level 5, enough to have a chance of poisoning enemy units.

BATTLE

There are three modifiers active this time. The first is the Deflection Field modifier, so units will not take damage from Magic Reflect, Return Fire, Thorns and Blast. Then, the Fog of War modifier, which causes units to lose the Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity abilities. The third is the What Doesn't Kill You modifier, which grants all units the Enrage ability, giving them +50% melee power and speed if they are not at full health.

I'm playing with my account: langice. This time I decided to choose Helios Matriarch, a dragon summoner that allows me to play a gladius unit and increase the speed of my units.

I will start with Halfling Refugee as my frontline unit, currently the best 1 mana unit. He can heal himself for one third of his max health each turn, unless his Weary ability triggers, which prevents him from attacking or activating any abilities.

I then summon a 0 mana unit, Scorch Fiend. And in the third position Kra'ar Xoc, who cannot attack but will increase its health and max health by 1 each time a unit is defeated.

Next up are two magic units, Continuum Seer and Sorriel the Bale in the fourth and fifth positions. The first one can dodge magic attacks and deal 2 damage when an enemy unit misses its attack against her. And Sorriel can attack twice per round and will curse the enemy units with the Blinded effect, giving them a 15% higher chance to miss their attacks.

Sarius will be my last unit, ready to show off her abilities against the enemy units.

In the first round, both frontline units were damaged but neither was defeated.

In the second round, Halfling Refugee is defeated by the enemy Tide Biter. Then, Sarius attacks and applies poison to Djinn Oshannus.

In the third round, Djinn Oshannus defeats my Scorch Fiend.

In the fourth round, Kra'ar Xoc is destroyed by Supply Runner. Then, Sarius defeat Djinn Oshannus. After that, Sorriel eliminates the enemy Tide Biter.

In the fifth round, Continuum Seer defeats Torrent Fiend. Then, Supply Runner defeats my Continuum Seer. Finally, Sorriel destroys Merdaali Guardian.

And in the seventh round, Sarius ends the battle by destroying Supply Runner.

Full Battle

In this battle, Djinn Oshannus was a big problem, as he can also dodge magic attacks and take less damage from them. And he had 11 speed under the effects of Enrage, so it was very difficult for my units to attack him.

I was very lucky in successfully attacking him with my lower speed units, and even more so when Sarius applied Poisoned to him. In this way Djinn Oshannus was defeated in the fourth round.

Sorriel was also very important in my lineup, having two attacks per round, dealing up to 4 magic damage. Sarius was able to defeat 2 units, ending the battle by defeating the last one. This time, only two of my units survived.

That's all for now guys, if you haven't played Splinterlands yet, you can join with my referral link. See you on the battlefield!
