Hello everyone, this thime I will be participating in this Splinterlands Challenge, where I will be showing you a battle in the modern ranked league, one of which, I will be able to use one gladius unit, very powerful and useful units.

This time, two ranged units will lead my team to victory, one of them is Alfredo the ranged unit, costs only 2 mana, has high hit points and can reach a max ranged attack power of 3 at max level.

Source

I like to use Alfredo in low mana battles, of course, only when he is available, since he is a gladius unit, so I can only summon him in Gladius Brawls, or when I use a summoner with the Conscript ability or when the Are You Not Entertained? modifier is active. I currently have Alfredo at level 5, just 3 more levels to max.

Alfredo at level 1 only has 1 ranged attack power and since he is a gladius unit, he has the BLOODLUST ability, which increases all his stats by 1 when he defeats an enemy unit.

At level 5, Alfredo has 2 ranged attack power, 3 speed and 5 health, and gains the CLOSE RANGE ability, which allows him to attack even in the frontline position.

And at level 8, Alfredo increases his ranged attack power and speed by 1, and gains the TRUE STRIKE ability, so now he can't miss any attacks.

HOW TO OBTAIN

Currently, Alfredo is only available in Gladius Cases, which can be purchased for 2000 merits each in the Guild Store.

Merits can be earned in Guild Brawl battles and can also be purchased for a certain amout of Glint in the Shop Rewards.

Each Gladius Case contains 5 random Gladius cards, at least one of which is guaranteed to be rare or better.

BATTLE

There are two modifiers active this time. The first is the Equalizer modifier, which sets the base health of all units equal to that of the unit on either team with the highest base health. And the second is the Are You Not Entertained? modifier, which allows each player to summon a gladius unit, if they so choose.

This time the mana is only 13, very low, so I need to spend every mana point on the right cards.

This time I decided to use the 4 mana summoner, Kelya Frendul, who grants my units +1 armor and +1 speed. I like to use water units because they have some of the best low mana cost units.

In the first position is Halfling Refugee, currently the best 1 mana unit I would say. He has incredible stats for his mana cost, and can heal himself for a third of his max health each turn, unless his Weary ability triggers, which prevents him from making any moves that turn, but he's still a great tank.

Next up is Tide Biter, who can attack from the second position thanks to his Reach ability. He also has the Deflect ability, which allows him to not be affected by the thorns and blast damage. And besides, his attacks cannot be dodged.

Chaos Agent in the third position, a very difficult unit to fight, since he has the dodge ability, which gives him a 15% chance to evade melee and ranged attacks, and can miss magic attacks thanks to his Phase ability. Then is Elanor Bravefoot, a 0 ranged mana unit, pretty good.

Alfredo will be in the fifth position, ready to destroy some enemy units.

And in the sixth position is Igor Darkspear, who has a ranged attack power of 3 and has a 50% chance to stun the enemy unit, skipping the turn of the enemy unit.

In the first round, both frontline units were damaged, but neither was defeated.

In the second round, the enemy Elanor Bravefoot destroys my Halfling Refugee. Then, the enemy Chaos Agent is defeated by Alfredo, increasing his stats by 1.

In the third round, Tide Biter is defeated by the enemy Dax Paragon.

In the fourth round, Igor Darkspear defeats Soul Fiend. In the fifth round, no enemy is defeated, but in the sixth round, Dax Paragon is defeated by Igor Darkspear.

From the seventh to the eighth round, all units survived.

In the ninth round, Igor Darkspear defeats the enemy Sola Ranjell. And in the eleventh round, the enemy Elanor Bravefoot is defeated by Igor, ending the battle.

Full Battle

In this battle, the opponent used the powerful Eternal Tofu, playing with two of the same units I also used, Chaos Adjent and Elanor Bravefoot. But he chose to summon with 2 magic units, Dax Paragon and Solar Ranjell, the latter being a gladius unit, a support unit with two healing abilities.

Thanks to the Equalizer modifer, all my units had 8 health, while the enemy units also had 8, but their health was further increased due to Tofu giving them +2 health, and +2 more health due to enemy abilities, but it wasn't a big deal anyway.

Alfredo was only able to defeat one unit this time, and Igor destroyed 4 units, thanks to the help of Alfredo after weakening the enemy target. Unfortunately for my opponent, Sola Ranjell couldn't defeat any unit, so her stats did not increase. Only two of my units were defeated this time, so I ended up winning the battle with 4 units alive.

That's all for now guys, if you haven't played Splinterlands yet, you can join with my referral link. See you on the battlefield!
