NFTs For Identifying Original Luxury Fashion Items.

Now this is one of those random thoughts that pop up in our mind tabs and refuses to leave. A few weeks ago a friend of mine told me she wanted some certain Zara fashion items and was considering doing so through a personal shopper on Instagram. She couldn’t place the orders directly herself because Nigerian authorities have further reduced the amount for international transactions to Twenty dollars so the personal shopper was the next doable option.

After what seemed like forever, the items finally arrived and they turned out to be fake 😶 She was furious because she actually did pay more that the actual cost of those items on the company’s website. I tried to tell her I warned her but decided to read the room instead and let her cry in peace. So I kept thinking about the whole situation and all the ways that could have been avoided.

One day in the middle of an unrelated activity I thought NFTs!!! What if a particular limited fashion series came with NFTs to confirm its authenticity, like a piece of luxury fashion item has a unique NFT ascribed to it and would be transferred to the buyer to confirm the authenticity of the item so they would also claim the NFT. I’m not exactly sure how any of this is supposed to work but it was just a thought.

I later learned that Dolce and Gabbana had something similar to what I was thinking. They had launched a collection during the Vernice fashion week which was auctioned fir 5.56 million United state Dollars. The idea was for where the persons who bought the NFTs would receive the NFT as well as the physical versions of the items, including access to exclusive Dolce and Gabbana fashion events. I thought that was extremely cool.

So, once the NFT is transferred to you following your purchase, you automatically have sole rights and access to the tracking as well as history and story of the piece. Now this means no other person can have access to this named brand piece of clothing. I’m not exactly sure his any of this is supposed to supposed to work but I just thought it was cool.

Well, I just know that for it to actually work, it has to be with limited pieces only, I think. Anything is possible in the name of digital technology.
Thank you for reading. I’m open to hearing your thoughts about this thinking of mine.

It's not a random thought. Some brands are working on it.

Great to know as I’ve mentioned one in my post and would be happy to learn about the brands who are working on it as I’m sure it’ll help me understand more about it.
Thank you for reading.

Ohhh, I like that!! I wouldn't 100% be sure how this should be operated, since what the devs talk about is Chinese to me, even though I'd probably know more Chinese than that even...😆 But I think that's absolutely doable. It's so nice to see there are still people with clear visions and some sanity in the world. (Luckily here on Hive a lot!)

😅 not you saying you’d probably know more Chinese than that.
I’d actually like to know and understand more of what the devs mean because once something has attracted my curiosity I can’t let it go.

Thank you for your kind complement though sanity sounds a bit rich for me 😭. It’s nice of you to stop by. 😌 🌹
