Are the top NFT marketplaces becoming a joke or they just like giving normies more point to believe digital or virtual world is a scam?

Sometimes when critics or normies talk about how they don’t believe in the digital world and call it scam we just laugh at them actually calling them critics and normies and we try to defend how crypto is changing the future and also try to convert them. The thing is sometimes I wonder if they have a point calling it scam or maybe there’s still more to be done in the crypto world in terms of exchange platforms be vulnerable to attacks giving normies or critics more weapons to attack and see reasons to their point.
First of all, OpenSea is one of the biggest NFT marketplaces in the world of NFTs and it’s supposed to be one of the most secured NFT marketplaces because thousands of NFTs are being traded there every minute. Even though no one is above being vulnerable but being attacked twice while housing NFTs worth millions of dollars is something else, like it’s unbelievable.
Earlier this month, OpenSea came out to announce that they will be updating their smart contracts and all for security measures and from plagiarists and also because they’ve been hacks going on in the NFT marketplace, now tell me how is it now possible for a hacker to hack into the platform, stealing from 32 users and also obtaining $1.7 million from selling them too. Whoa!!
That isn’t all; reports also stated top NFT marketplaces have also been victims of 200 NFTs stolen from them. Well I think it’s safe to say our digital assets isn’t safe anywhere anymore. The report stated that 3 Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFTs was stolen, 2 from Decentraland, 7 Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) and 1 Meebit by Larva Labs. And they are still not yet gotten from the hacker.
According to OpenSea, they noticed some suspicious activities days ago from the hacker when OpenSea signatures where been collecting from different users through emails by them clicking a link. The question is, if they noticed it earlier on couldn’t the hack have been avoided?
The CEO of OpenSea Devin Finzer said Some of the NFTs stolen have been returned, while the attack doesn’t appear to be active at this point, as OpenSea “haven’t seen any malicious activity from the attacker’s account in the last hours. As far as we can tell, this is a phishing attack. We don’t believe it’s connected to the OpenSea website. It appears 32 users thus far have signed a malicious payload from an attacker, and some of their NFTs were stolen.”
However, some NFTs that were stolen has been recovered and returned to their owner but over hundreds are still yet to be recovered. Now how safe are the other NFTs on the platform or will the minds of the owners of the NFTs stolen be at peace knowing that they can’t store their assets in the said Largest and biggest NFT marketplace.
