Hello guys, How are you? ^^
I am really excited to share my new artwork for the Splinterlands Art Contest. This week, I decided to do something a little bit different so I revisit Splinterlands old cards collection. And as I was scrolling through the list of cards, I saw the “Countess Sinash” card. She is one most gorgeous characters in the Splinterlands world. I like the marks she has on her skin, the fire ball in her hands and most importantly her facial expression. It’s really cool. I realized that it had been quite a while since I last drew her. I just checked it when I drew portrait of this character and I got shocked it was around two years ago. Time flies really fast, doesn’t it? I thought I made that drawing just last year, but it’s been much longer than that.
The last time I drew Countess Sinash, I was still creating artworks using colored pencils. For those of you who have been following my work for a while, you probably remember that before I start doing digital art, I used to making traditional art. Colored pencils were my favorite tools back then, and I used them for everything from fantasy characters to portraits of singers or actors and fan art.
One thing that I really like about making digital arts is that I can try different things, but it’s very hard to do so in traditional art. I was really happy with how it turned out but now I see it was really great really! :D I have this feeling towards most of my old artworks, I think I’m not alone in this :D

By the way,I got curious and also checked and found out my very first Splinterlands fan arts were around 3 years ago!!

Now let me write about the process of this art, first I made a quick sketch of a girl and then drew the character’s remarkable features. I tried to draw the style of hair and outfit like the original art and didn’t change it much.
After I finished the sketch, I moved on to coloring her skin with natural skin tones. I always try my best to keep the skin smooth and very realistic, I take my time and blend very carefully to create soft transitions between light and shadow. Then I added highlights on her face. When I finished rendering her skin, I went on coloring her facial features and her outfit. Then I added details on her eyes and lips and after that it was time to color her hair and add details. Painting the hair is my favorite part of any drawing. First, I colored it dark brown and then added highlights and drew hair strands to make it look really realistic.
In the end, I started working on the background, I wanted the background to not be too distracting, so I decided to make it more simple so I colored it using red and orange colors. I also added a few magical light effects to make the overall piece more cool. Then I thought of drawing a magic fire ball in the left side of the drawing.
I really liked how it turned out in the end, compared to my last portrait I drew of this character, this one is more detailed. They say practice makes perfect and they’re right. Even small improvements over time can lead to big changes in the long run.

This turned out to be one of my favorite artworks I have made so far, I hope you enjoyed this drawing as much as I enjoyed drawing it ^^

Here’s the sketch and progress ^^
