Equalizing with the Elementals

Equalizer Modifier makes every unit start with the same health which changes how battles usually go. Low mana units suddenly become very efficient as they also have the same health so fights often last much longer. Because of this, many teams focus on consistent damage along with high damage units which can be a problem if countered properly.
This lineup I used was built around Elemental units because of Loving the Moo. Loving the Moo allowed me to use Elementals from different Element which opened more options for damage and defense. Poison, Blast and Magic Reflect all played a role in me breaking the enemy lines and winning with finesse.

Battle Breakdown
Modifier in this Battle:
- Equalizer - The initial health of all units is equal to that of the unit on either team with the highest base health.
My Thoughts on Modifiers
- Equalizer is a good modifier as it makes everything a tank. This is a good modifier for Loving the Moo which have Poison which is made for long battles.

Team Composition
Archon: Loving the Moo
- Loving the Moo gives Poison to all Elementals from his Bloodline Dominion ability. In addition to that, 2 of my units gets Blast and Magic Reflect abilities as well.
Units Chosen

Unit 1: Halfling Refugee
- A 1 mana unit that is good in Equalizer modifier. He gets really huge for a low amount of mana. He has a 3 melee attack which is good but his main role is a filler.

Unit 2: Infernal Firestorm
- Infernal Firestorm is really my main tank. He may be from the Fire element but can still be used due to Loving the Moo's Bloodline Dominion ability allowing Elementals and Canisans to be used regardless of element. He has Flank that can be a good combo with Molten Elemental. I gave him the Blast and Magic Reflect because of the magic damage he can do.

Unit 3: Molten Elemental
- Molten Elemental is another fire unit which can be used because of Bloodline Dominion. He has both melee and range attacks which means adding Blast gives him two attacks per round. The Magic Reflect is also a good addition in combination with his ability, Void. So, the magic damage on him gets half and then return the same magic damage to the enemy.

Unit 4: Abyssal Elemental
- My favorite unit. He also has magic damage. The Resurgence has good compatibility with Equalizer. If he dies, he can get the boosted health instead of the original health making him act as two units in one.

Unit 5: Umbral Elemental
- Has Taunt and magic damage. Being an elemental, he gets Poison from Loving the Moo. A taunt unit may not be needed but he is still an elemental which is good because of the Poison ability given by Loving the Moo.

The Battle
Opening Rounds:
Both teams did their best in this match. I think their lineup makes sense. Their Halfling Refugee is placed last as a protection against Sneak attacks which is okay. The only question is the use of Aimee Whisperwind, a melee unit with Opportunity. I think it would make sense if they used a unit with magic damage here since all untis get the same health. The result wouldn't matter though.
Mid-game:
The funny thing about my lineup is once Halfling Refugee died, it makes my build stronger. With Infernal Elemental now on the front, Flank works now which means Molten Elemental's melee attack can now function providing more damage. The enemy also don't have a tank with enough armor now so all of my attacks will directly strike their health which would be a huge problem for them.
Final Rounds:
With the Magic Reflect on both Infernal Elemental and Molten Elemental from Loving the Moo, the high magic damage from the enemy is becoming a disadvantage, The higher attack they have, the more damage they get returned. Abyssal Elemental also has Resurgence so I technically have another unit on the board if all comes to the danger zone.

Results & Reflection
What strategy I was aiming for:
I will be honest. My main strategy was to spam Elemental units. With Equalizer modifier and the decent amount of mana. I am expecting the battle to take a long time. Therefore, Poison will get insane value on this battle. With that in mind, I get all the elementals I can push in and with Loving the Moo's Bloodline Dominion, all of the those elementals gain Poison which is the secret of my success in this battle.
What surprised me:
What surprised me was how much the enemy Loving the Moo is doing better each time. The Poison on Elementals are very strong. Elementals have good abilities and each one can technically carry the game. Together, they are a forced to be reckoned with.
What I learned:
This match showed me how powerful Magic Reflect are in Equalizer Modifier. Long fights mean more damage which becomes very problematic for the enemy since they have a lot of huge high magic damage. I also learned that losing Halfling Refugee early was not a problem because it actually activated Flank and made my damage stronger.

Closing Thoughts
This battle felt very consistent from start to finish because the lineup was built for long fights. Equalizer Modifier favors teams that can survive while dealing good damage and Poison helps a lot with that plan. Bloodline Dominion also gives more freedom in building lineups which makes this strategy easier to pull off.
Overall, this match shows how important synergy is in Equalizer Modifier. Magic Reflect, Poison and Blast slowly breaks down enemy teams that depend on magic damage. This lineup works best when fights last longer and enemies cannot quickly kill key units giving Poison from Loving the Moo more value over time.
