Raini Studios' "The Lords of Light" showboating into oblivion
The world is not enough to save Raini Studios' debut game, "The Lords of Light."
It's low, uninspiring, and frankly, a waste of time. It's like those NFTs featuring famous people that have nothing to do with those "art pieces". What's the point?
In contrast, I have to give major props to Splinterlands for their originality.
This can't and must not be compared. And the stupid shit like this has to stop.
Same like the cardboard cut-outs of almost identical monkeys in different hats being sold for thousands upon thousands of dollars.
When you see it you know it's a bag of wind!
Splinterlands actually has something to offer and doesn't rely on famous faces to sell their product.
It's a breath of fresh air in a world full of recycled, uninspired ideas.
Lately I was covering a lot of uncomfortable news, and I'm getting pretty fed up with these cryptocurrency regulators.
They seem to be obsessed with cracking down on anything that's actually useful, like privacy coins or decentralized exchanges.
Meanwhile, they're completely ignoring the real garbage in the space - the NFTs featuring celebrities who have absolutely nothing to do with crypto.
The Lords of Light is an excellent example of how blockchain technology and cryptocurrency can be misused.
It's like they don't realize that these things are just a gimmick, a way for people to make a quick buck by slapping a famous name on a digital asset.
They say that a game features cards that reference popular figures in the crypto world, including Elon Musk, Sam Bankman-Fried, Changpeng Zhao, Peter Schiff, the Winklevoss twins, Satoshi Nakamoto, and Vitalik Buterin.
And how celebrity references helps make the game more approachable to new players and adds an extra layer of humor to the game.
No, it is not.
It is a simple attention whoring.
Meanwhile, innovative projects like Splinterlands, which are actually doing something new and interesting in the space, get overlooked.
It's low, really. If they want to regulate something, they should start with these NFT scams.
