Portrait of Alric Stormbringer... Splinterlands art contest
Heeey dear friends..
Hope all of you is doing great.
I am overflowing with happiness and pride as I share my latest artistic achievement—a detailed pencil portrait of Alric Stormbringer, the powerful and enigmatic card from Splinterlands. This piece was a true labor of love, taking me approximately two hours of focused sketching, shading, and refining. There’s something incredibly satisfying about working with traditional tools, letting the graphite glide across the paper, slowly building depth and emotion with every stroke.
What made this experience even more special was the challenge of capturing Alric’s commanding presence using nothing but pencils. From the sharp contours of his armor to the intensity in his eyes, I wanted every detail to reflect his strength and mystique. The process was meditative—each layer of shading brought him closer to life, and watching the portrait evolve was immensely rewarding.
While I primarily relied on hand-drawn techniques, I decided to add a few subtle digital enhancements in the final stage. A slight boost in contrast, a touch of texture—these minor edits helped emphasize the depth and drama of the piece without losing the organic feel of pencil art. It’s fascinating how a blend of traditional and digital tweaks can elevate an artwork while keeping its soul intact.
This project was more than just a drawing; it was a tribute to a character I admire and a celebration of my growth as an artist. Every time I sketch, I learn something new—about patience, precision, and the power of persistence. Finishing this portrait filled me with a deep sense of accomplishment, reminding me why I fell in love with art in the first place.
The Orginal card :
Alric Stormbringer is a legendary Water Summoner card in Splinterlands, known for his powerful magic-boosting abilities. As a formidable leader, he increases the Magic Attack of all friendly monsters by +1, making him invaluable in battles where spellcasters dominate. His presence on the battlefield can turn the tide of combat, especially in high-level matches where magic damage is crucial. With his striking design—flowing robes, arcane energy, and commanding presence—Alric has become a fan-favorite character. Whether you're strategizing for victory or simply admiring his artwork, Alric Stormbringer remains one of the most iconic and impactful cards in the game.
I took the information about the card from Splinterlands crads site.
And now let's start with the steps of my drwing of Alric Stormbringer card :
First step :
I started out lines to give the face shape and make it look like the character as the same.
Second step :
Here i start drawing the eyes and some other lines to make it more detailed as you see dear watchers. ❤️
Third step :
I over lined all the lines to make them more black and be able to see.
Fourth step :
I made for details in the beard and the face to give it more realistic touch.
Fifth step :
Moving my drawing to the Snapseed app to edit on some things like shadows and lightning.
And finally the last step and it's the sixth step :
I completed my drawing and did all the shadows i want on it.
