Let’s Make Cinnamon Tea With Cream
With cooler evenings upon us warming drinks are much appreciated in my home. One of my favorite and simplest teas is cinnamon with cream. Cinnamon has many beneficial properties. It has plenty of antioxidants and is packed with anti-viral/bacterial/fungal properties which we all need specially now with COVID peeking it’s ugly head into our lives again.
Cinnamon has prebiotic properties and is said to lower blood sugar as well as blood pressure. So not only is it delicious, it’s beneficial!
After setting up my Bitcoin tip jar on my Twitter account I decided to prepare myself a cup of cinnamon tea!
For 2.5 cups of spring water I use 1 and a half sticks of cinnamon. I bring it slowly to a boil over a low flame.
Once ready I pour it into a mug and sweeten it with Mexican rock sugar, it’s a hard form of molasses commonly sold in a cone form known as “piloncillo.” I break mine into pieces to keep in a mason jar.
To this I add a splash of heavy cream.
It’s so delightful!
