Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! Super Sneak!
Hi everyone! It's time for the weekly Battle Mage Secrets challenge and the challenge this week is the Super Sneak Ruleset.
About the Ruleset

Super Sneak
The Super Sneak ruleset states that "All Melee attack Monsters have the Sneak ability". This means that you may want to consider using your main tank in the last position, since it will be attacked first.
Battle Ruleset(s)
Details of my battle with this ruleset is as follows.

Tis but Scratches: All Monsters have the Cripple ability
Reverse Speed: Monsters with the lowest attack speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks
Only the Earth, Life, Death and Dragon Splinters can be used
Mana Cap: 15
Format: Tournament, Silver League
Cards & Line Up
Summoner

Summoner: Obsidian - This decreases the Magic attack and Health of my opponents deck by 1.

Position | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Crypt Beetle | It has low health but has the Shield ability. I figured that it should be sufficient if the attack is on the backline. |
2 | Cursed Windeku | It has high health and the Thorns ability. It's meant as the backline tank, but I wanted it to take damage later as it is also the main damage dealer. |
3 | Corpse Fiend | It helps to do a little damage and helps absorb the initial backline damage. |
4 | Carrion Shade | Same purpose as Corpse Field, but has the Flying ability which may help dodge some attacks as well. |
5 | Shadowy Presence | It's main role here is to absorb the initial backline damage. |
Strategy
The ruleset here meant that (1) All melee attacks will hit the last position, (2) even hits that are absorbed by shield will reduce the health of the monster by 1 and (3) the slowest monsters attack first.
I opted for the Death Splinter with Crypt Beetle as the tank in the first position and Cursed Windeku as the backline tank. The other monsters were meant to absorb the backline damage as Cursed Windeku was also the main damage dealer.
The opponent opted for the the Death Splinter as well, and a largely frontline attack. Usut with its Flying ability was meant to help dodge some backline attacks and it has the Bloodlust ability too to grow its stats from killing off opponents.
I was a little worried when my initial attacks on Usut kept missing, but the later little hits from Corpse Fiend and Carrion Shade helped to bring the health of Usut down a little faster, due to the Cripple ruleset. Cursed Windeku was then able to take Usut down before it grew too powerful.
Thoughts on the Super Sneak Ruleset
I think the Super Sneak ruleset is a fun ruleset, which I like a lot. Sometimes I opt for a full melee deck, to make full use of the ruleset. At other times, I opt for a full frontline attack, and with a monster with the Taunt ability, so that the backline doesn't get hit first. This tends to throw the opponent a littlespt bat offguard as they tend to expect a backline attack, as the opponent did in this battle here.
