Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge!
Hi everyone! It's time for the weekly Battle Mage Secrets challenge and the challenge this week is the Little League Ruleset.
About the Ruleset

The Little League ruleset states that "Only Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles". This levels the playing field a little as Epic and Legendary summoners can't be used, as they usually cost more than 4 Mana.

Position | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Xenith Monk | It has the Heal ability, and can hopefully tank a few rounds with its heals. |
2 | Shadow Snitch | It has the Reach ability and can attack from second position. It has a good amount of health for this ruleset as well |
3 | Riftwing | It has the Flying, Scavenger and Backfire abilities. Its health will get to grow a little in this position and can act as a tank when Xenith Monk and Shadow Snitch are down. |
4 | Venari Bonesmith | It has the Life Leech and Poison abilities. The poison will help take opponents down faster. |
5 | Revealer | It has the Stun ability and is great for stunning tanks. |
6 | Clockwork Aide | It has the Swiftness ability and a good amount of shield. It'll help to take a good amount of damage should the opponent employ a backline attack. |
Strategy
The rulesets here meant that (1) ranged monsters cannot be used, (2) melee monster will get enhanced attack stats when their health goes down and (3) monsters and summoners are limited to those with 4 mana and below.
With this ruleset combination, I opted for the Death Splinter, as there's a good number of monsters of 4 mana and below with great abilities for the ruleset, like Poison and Stun. There's also a number of monsters like Shadow Snitch and Riftwing with higher health that can act as tanks.
The opponent used the Water Splinter instead and opted for a partial backline attack. With the damage spread between the frontline and backline, and the lower overall health, I had a good advantage over my opponent. As such, I had a relatively easy win.
Thoughts on the Little League Ruleset
The Little League ruleset restricts the monsters and summoners used to those with 4 mana and below. In general, most of these monsters do not have very high health and damage. So, a good strategy is to use as many monsters with as high a health and damage as possible. It is also good to concentrate most of the attacks at either the frontline or the backline.
