Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! Stampede!
Hi everyone! It's time for the weekly Battle Mage Secrets challenge and the challenge this week is the Stampede Ruleset.
About the Ruleset

Stampede
The Stampede ruleset states that "The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed". In such a ruleset, it is possible that a monster with the Trample ability can take out the whole deck in one go if it triggers repeatedly.
Battle Ruleset(s)
Details of my battle with this ruleset is as follows.

Unprotected: Monsters do not have any armor and do not get armor from Abilities or Summoner Buffs
Stampede: The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed
Only the Fire, Earth and Dragon Splinters can be used
Mana Cap: 41
Format: Brawl, Bronze League
Cards & Line Up
Summoner

Summoner: Obsidian - This increases the Magic attack of my entire deck by 1.

Position | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Quora Towershead | It is one of the best Earth card in the Gladius set. It has a dual attack of Physical and Magic damage, and has the Bloodlust and Heal ability. |
2 | Mycelic Slipspawn | It has high health and the Taunt ability, and will allow Quora to take damage later. |
3 | Magi of Chaos | It has a good amount of magic damage. It also has slightly higher health to tank if Quora Towershead and Mycelic Slipspawn are taken out. |
4 | Madcap Magus | It has low health but can build up it's health to tank a little if it comes down to it. |
5 | Spirit Hoarder | It's main role here is to heal Mycelic Slipspawn with its Triage ability, and allowing Mycelic Slipspawn to last a little longer. |
6 | Goblin Psychic | It has a decent amount of damage and can help to heal the tank with its Tank Heal ability. |
Strategy
The ruleset here meant that (1) All attacks will always hit and the Flying and Dodge abilities are basically useless, (2) No armor, which means melee and ranged attacks are just as good as magic ones and (3) Monsters with the Trample ability have a good advantage.
I only had 2 monsters with the Trample ability, one in the Water Splinter and one in the Dragon Splinter, and only the Dragon one is playable in this ruleset. I decided against the use of it as there is no armor in this ruleset and that means that it'll get taken out fast, rendering the Trample ability useless in any case.
I opted for the Earth Splinter with Quora Towershead as the main tank and Mycelic Slipspawn as the secondary tank. Mycelic Slipspawn acts more as the main tank really, as the Taunt ability will cause it to get hit first. I also had homeground advantage as the opponent is not allowed to use Quora Towershead.
The opponent opted for the use of Mylor Crowling as his summoner, with its Thorns ability. It's largely useless against me as I had chosen a full deck of Magic attack. It'll only be effective against Quora Towershead. My attacks are concentrated on the first position, and I took out Unicorn Mustang within the first round and easily took out the rest of the deck in the second round!
Thoughts on the Stampede Ruleset
I think the Stampede ruleset is a rather fun one. It's just too bad that I have a very limited number of monsters that can fully utilise this ruleset. A good strategy for this ruleset is the use of the summoner Possibilus the Impossible, which gives all the monsters in the deck the Trample ability. If the Water Splinter was usable, it would have been a great strategy to use.
