Coastal Sentry (SPLINTERLANDS) Art Contest
Hello everyone, this time I decided to inspire a unique and special design inspired by the color blue, which is associated with cold, or depression.
In an art studio, I was able to explore this color palette, which directly or indirectly affects people's psyches, profoundly influencing their mood.

I start with a blank canvas, which we secure with clear tape so I can create our design. I do this so it stays firmly in place and there are no problems or accidents when erasing or painting.
The myths about mermaids are very interesting because over the years there has always been uncertainty. In my opinion, it's something we can't deny, but it's so fanciful that it's impossible for us to believe something like that exists.

I begin bringing this wonderful work to life by sketching the head and bust. I continue centering the body and then add the structure of the hands and arms to give the character's size a proper dimension with the surrounding environment.

Then I start to add design details after having the body finished or advanced, and I begin to add details of the mermaid's markings and give shape to the hair, which is wavy due to the waves of the sea.

Here I add the skirt, and in my country the wavy effect is called faralao, it's a fascinating anecdote, and then it's time to shape the face, the main attraction.

And as I began to color, alternating between colors and watercolors to create a unique effect, I decided to follow the style of the drawing, not adding the trident, since I wanted to establish the femininity and coldness of the blue colors mixed with pink and fuchsia tones for that touch of femininity that I seek to explore.
And at this point, I further defined the fin, the tones of the body, the lights and shadows, and the hair, body, and fin.

At the same time, I demonstrated the beauty of the mermaid and her ferocity or malice reflected in her eyes, supporting the theory that the beautiful song of these beautiful creatures can take you to the depths of an abyss, or the sea, in this case.
This is how we explored the background or meaning of colors, which is closely linked to emotions and psychology, although this is not always the case.
