Hello everyone and welcome to the Battle Weekly Challenge. This week the challenge is with Magi Necrosi, an epic Death element card with the Snipe and Camouflage abilities. This card belongs to the Chaos Legion edition. Unfortunately this card is not part of the Starter cards, so we have to buy or rent it.

The battle that we are going to see in this challenge was played in a Splinterlands tournament where only the Chaos Legion and Riftwatchers editions were allowed to play. It was in the "Summoners' Novice Beginner Training" tournament. As this is a Novice tournament only level 1 cards were allowed.

Battle Rules

This is a 50 mana battle with the Healed Out rule. All elements except Water and Life are allowed to play.

IconNameDescription
Healed OutAll healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners.
  • You can skip monsters and summoners having Affliction.
  • Do not use monsters with Heal or Tank Heal abilities.

My Lineup

Thaddius Brood sat in silence in his cell, staring hard at the far wall across from him. While he was completely still and quiet, inside his mind was a busy place. The voice from the entity he'd summoned, the one that connected with him, had plenty to say. We will get out of this, dear Thaddius. This cell is not enough to hold us. We will kill those that put us here. That dared to claim they were our masters. Everyone will know of our power. Thaddius grinned.

Thaddius Brood: This summoner reduces the HP and magic attack from all enemy monsters by -1. I think it is very useful as it helps to kill monsters faster and be more resistant to magic attacks.

Cursed Windeku: In the first position I have decided to use Cursed Windeku. I think this card is an amazing tank as he does damage back to the attacker thanks to its Thorns ability. This is very useful as it allows us to kill monsters faster. Its high HP and its Thorns ability make enemy monsters fall on their own.

Disintegrator: This card reduces the melee attack of all enemy monsters by -1. In this particular battle we were able to reduce Grund's attack, which is very important since he attacks twice with the "Double Strike" ability.

Queen of Crows: Ranged attack card that can be used as a tank due to its high HP (11) and its "Close Range" ability, which allows it to perform ranged attacks from the first position.

Magi Necrosi: In the fourth position I have decided to use Magi Necrosi, the protagonist of this challenge. This card is very good as it targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position (Snipe ability) and cannot be targeted for attacks unless it's in the first position (Camouflage ability). In addition, this card has a very high Speed and does magic damage, which allows it to attack first and avoid the enemy's heavily armored monsters. Even if its mana cost is high (6), it's a perfect card for high mana battles.

Dhampir Stalker: This monster's attacks cannot miss. It is very useful against monsters with high Speed or Flying ability.

Night Ghoul All enemy monsters target Night Ghoul thanks to his Taunt ability. Knowing that the enemy monsters will target this card will help us protect the rest of the allied monsters.

Did your strategy work?

Yes. I think my strategy worked well. We have managed to use a varied combination of different types of damage (melee, magic and ranged) and win the battle. The choice of our summoner was very wise as there was a high chance that the opponent would use magic attack monsters. So I am happy with the result and the strategy I used. I have won 20 SPS for finishing first in the tournament.

Do you like Magi Necrosi?

Yes! I like Magi Necrosi. Personally it is a card that I use a lot. I really like to use this card as it deals magic damage. Does magic damage is very important to avoid opponent's heavily armored monsters. Monsters with magic attack may do damage from any row, since this form of attack ignores the defender’s Armor STAT (damage is applied directly to health). Unless there is a monster with Phase on the enemy's team, magic attack will always hit. There is no miss chance.
