Battle Weekly Challenge - Cursed Windeku
Hello everyone and welcome to the Battle Weekly Challenge. This week the challenge is with Cursed Windeku, a rare Death element card with the Thorns ability. This card belongs to the Chaos Legion edition and is part of the Starter cards, so we can use it for free.
In this particular battle we are going to face a level 1 Thaddius Brood summoner. We are going to play on equal terms as we can only use cards at level 1. So let's see the rules, the team and the details of the battle.
Battle Rules
This is a 29 mana battle with the "Tis but Scratches" rule. All elements except Earth and Dragon are allowed to play.

My Lineup
![]() Thaddius Brood sat in silence in his cell, staring hard at the far wall across from him. While he was completely still and quiet, inside his mind was a busy place. The voice from the entity he'd summoned, the one that connected with him, had plenty to say. We will get out of this, dear Thaddius. This cell is not enough to hold us. We will kill those that put us here. That dared to claim they were our masters. Everyone will know of our power. Thaddius grinned. |

Thaddius Brood: This summoner reduces the HP and magic attack from all enemy monsters by -1. I think it is very useful as it helps to kill monsters faster and be more resistant to magic attacks.
Cursed Windeku: In the first position I have decided to use Cursed Windeku, the protagonist of this challenge. I think this card is an amazing tank as he does damage back to the attacker thanks to its Thorns ability. This is very useful as it allows us to kill monsters faster. Its high HP and its Thorns ability make enemy monsters fall on their own.
Chaos Agent: This card doesn't have any abilities at level 1, but I like to use it as a bait for enemy monsters with the Opportunity ability. Monsters with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy monster with the lowest HP. By using this card we ensure that it is the target of these monsters.
Creeping Ooze: Ooze is one of those cards that fits very well into almost any composition. I find it especially good in low mana games thanks to its "Slow" ability, which reduces the attack speed of all enemy monsters allowing our monsters to attack first and have less chance to miss.
Venari Bonesmith: This monster has the Life Leech Ability. Usually monsters with Life Leech Ability have low HP but I love to use these monsters because if we manage to gain HP from the beginning of the battle, it will continue to go up and more time will take to eliminate them. I put it in position 4 to have a space to gain more health.
Silent Sha-vi: This card can target the last monster on the enemy team with his Sneak ability . My main objective with Silent Sha-vi is to kill enemy monsters with low HP that players usually use in the last position.
Octopider This card has a good combination of speed, attack and HP. I have decided to use this card to prevent enemy cards that can reduce our melee attack. We already have some monsters with melee attack in our composition, so if the opponent reduces our melee attack we can be in trouble, so I think it's a good idea to use at least one ranged attack card.

Did your strategy work?
Yes. I think my strategy worked well. We have managed to use a varied combination of different types of attack damage (melee, magic and ranged) and win the battle. So I am happy with the result and the strategy I used.
Do you like Cursed Windeku?
Yes, I like Cursed Windeku. Personally, it is a card that I use a lot for its impact in battles. I think Cursed Windeku should be taken into account in most Death compositions. One of the things that I like the most about this card is its Thorns ability, since it allows us to kill enemy monsters with melee attack faster. In addition, this monster becomes more powerful at level 5 when it gains the Heal ability, which restores a portion of the monster's health each round.
