Hello all Hivians and good people of the Gems community. Most of us may not be aware of some major happenings or events around the globe that took place on this day many years ago. I will therefore take us round the globe in a giffey to have a look at some of those historical events that took place on this day, sunday the 29/09/2024 in history.

We begin today from the Palestine. Do you know that on this day in 1923, The British mandate for the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine, which had been initiated by the Balfour Declaration of 1917, was eventually authorised by the League of Nations Council and went into effect.

From the Palestine, we move over to Australia. Do you also know that on this day in 1961, Julia Gillard, who in 2010 became Australia's first female Prime Minister, was born in Wales.

From Australia, we move over to Cuba. Now, on this day in 1906, The United States invaded Cuba following the insurrection against Tomás Estrada Palma's reelection.

From Cuba, we move over to the events of WWI. Do you know that on this day in 1918, German Chancellor Georg von Hertling resigned on the day of the Bulgarian armistice and the British invasion on the Western Front during World War I.

Gentlemen, we'll round off our today's look in history from Italy. Do you know that on this day in 1936, Silvio Berlusconi, an Italian media magnate who has served as Prime Minister of Italy three times (1994, 2001-06, and 2008-11) was born in Milan, Italy.
