Larry Is Alive 12 June 2024: I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for wednesday, the 12th day of June, 2024. Today is marked as Democracy day in Nigeria. To.mark the said event the federal government has declared it a public holiday. Happy democracy day to all Nigerians. Larry sips his coffee ☕ and watches the weather ☁️. It looks clement. He nods and then head over to the world of history.

Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from the Philippines. He finds out that on this day in 1898, The Philippines, led by revolutionary Emilio Aguinaldo, declared independence from Spain.

From the Philippines, Larry goes to the USA. He finds out that on this day in 1924, George H.W. Bush, Vice President of the United States from 1981 to 1989 and 41st President of the United States from 1989 to 1993, was born in Milton, Massachusetts, U.SA.

From the USA, Larry goes to Russia. He finds out that on this day in 1991, Boris Yeltsin was handily elected president of Russia (then part of the Soviet Union) in the republic's first direct, popular elections, and he was president of independent Russia until the eve of 2000.

From Russia, Larry goes to Italy. He finds out that on this day in 2023, Silvio Berlusconi, an Italian media magnate who served as Prime Minister of Italy three times (1994, 2001-06, and 2008-11) died Milan.

From Italy, Larry goes to Thailand. He finds out that on this day in 1964, Luang Phibunsongkhram, Thailand's field marshal and premier from 1938 to 1944 and 1948 to 1957, was involved with the advent of authoritarian military governments in Thailand died in Tokyo, Japan.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from the Philippines. He finds out that on this day in 1991, a series of large explosions erupted inside Mount Pinatubo, a volcano in western Luzon, Philippines, marking the volcano's first eruption in 600 years.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
