Splinterlands Art Contest - Week 368 - Iidri Fyre

Hey there, all. I hope you're having a wonderful Friday. It's been another week, which means it is time for me to submit my Splinterlands Art Contest entry. This week I got to try my hand at drawing Iidri Fyre again, one of the cards that I have done ages ago, and to be honest, it feels somewhat strange that I am drawing her after all this time (and after accumulating so much experience and techniques since the last time that I have drawn her)
Now, I don't exactly remember the number of times I've drawn her before, but it has to be either 2 or 3 in total (including this one as well). The most interesting part is that the brightest recollection I have of drawing it is related to the first time I ever drew her. That was ages ago, and I felt somewhat worried if it would ever turn out to be any good or not.
Anyway, short is that after so long, I really wanted to know how this one would turn out if I re-drew her using my current set of skills, and that's one of the major drives for drawing this piece and choosing her as the subject for this week's contest.
Now with that gigantic overview about the motivation of this drawing out of the way, let's just quickly dive into the details of this piece. As always, for those of you who like knowing and reading about the small details of the process, keep reading, and for those who prefer a general and quicker overview of the process, you can skip the rest of the text.
The Process
As always, the first step is the line art. I tried to avoid having too many big white spaces as opposed to some of my older line arts this time.
Then, in the coloring step, I added the base flat color. I used darker tones this time and tried using more initial colors.
Then it was time to add the flat background and some highlights and shadows to give the subject some depth.
And I fixed her skin color after some trial and error, then proceeded to finish her eyes.
After which, it was time to really push and finalize the remaining highlights and details of her hair and clothes.
And I finished the shading after the highlighting step was done.
And just before the final step, I added the stray curly hair strands to her hair. I didn't use the white strands as usual since this one already had a serious theme going around her, so I used the color of her hair and power - yellow and orange - instead.
The Result
As the finishing touch, I added some red curves and marks in the background, and added some particles around, so it wouldn't look as empty as it used to initially, and it really did fill up the whole canvas. I also did some highlighting here and there, but that was just some small touches and are not too noticeable if you don't pay attention.
Original Game Art
Also, this is the original game art for those who wonder about the in-game character. I believe her to be one of the most beautiful and unique characters in the game, and I really love the unique design of her.

And that is it for today's fan art. I hope you enjoyed this piece as well. Let me know what you think about it in the comments down below. Good luck to those of you who are participating in this week's contest as well, and I'll see you all in the next one... cheers~~
