The Top 10 Active Hive-Engine Tokens by Market Cap

As you may know, I’ve been playing around on the Hive blockchain for some time. You may also know it’s my favorite social blockchain. However, I have not discussed the many tokens tracked by Hive’s smart contracts platform, Hive-Engine. More than a thousand of them. Today, I want to list the top 10 Hive-Engine tokens currently active and rank them by market cap.

What Is Hive-Engine?

First, allow me to introduce ++Hive-Engine++.

Hive-Engine uses a smart contracts protocol created by Hive user @harpagon. Anyone on the Hive blockchain can create a token, define its characteristics, and issue their tokens according to the rules of the smart contract. To create tokens, users buy BEE tokens and pay the token execution fee (100 BEE tokens). Tokens be bought, sold, and traded on the Hive blockchain ++decentralized exchange++ (Tribaldex). Some tokens can also be staked.

With Hive-Engine, users can create a variety of smart contract types. These include:

• Non-fungible tokens (NFTs)
• Reward pools
• Distribution contracts (for payment distributions)
• Decentralized token funds
• Mining tokens
• Pack managers (for NFT issuances)
• Airdrops
• Claimdrops

Users can also create ++Outposts++, which are websites connected to Tribaldex, a great convenience if your community is associated with a token. These outposts often serve as social media hubs for members of those tokenized communities.

Introducing … The Top 10 Currently Active Hive Tokens By Market Cap

A short note about how the list was compiled.

First, I went to the Hive-Engine ++token marketplace++ and sorted the list by market cap, highest to lowest. But I went through a process to exclude tokens that didn’t fit the following criteria:

• An original icon/logo associated with the project
• Description of the token and/or project published and available
• The token is associated with a website or Hive account
• The token issuer is active on Hive (within the past month)
• It’s obvious the token community or project is currently active
• The project is not a pegged token project
• The token is not primarily for swapping, staking, yield farming, or other decentralized finance purposes (these may be included as a part of the overall project, but tokens created for the sole purpose of DeFi were excluded)

I took great pains to ensure that the following token projects are still active. If any of these are not still active, I’d appreciate someone letting me know.

Now, without further ado, here are the top 10 currently active tokenized projects on Hive, ranked by market cap:

1. DEC (Dark Energy Crystals)

The primary in-game currency for ++Splinterlands++, the first widely successful blockchain-based game on the Hive blockchain. Splinterlands has gone on to become a popular cross-chain game with many fans. Market Cap: $3,231,727; Issuer: ++@steemmonsters++

2. WAIV

The official token of the ++Waivio social shopping community++. Hive users can set up an e-commerce shop on the Hive blockchain. Market Cap: $301,851

3. LEO

The token associated with the ++InLeo community++, focused on content related to tokenization and digital ownership. Market Cap: $267,276; Issuer: [email protected]++

4. BEE

The native token of the ++Hive-Engine platform++. Market Cap: $245,346

5. ZING

The official token of the ++Holozing game++. Market Cap: $63,786; Issuer: ++@poshtoken++

6. LIST

The official token of the Hivelist community. LIST can be earned through curation and staking. It is used to buy items on the ++Hivelist website++, classified ads, and NFTs. Market Cap: $54,526; Issuer: ++@Hivelist++

7. BRO

Brocoin is a social token representing membership in the ++Man Cave community++. Market Cap: $51,887; Issuer: ++@raymondspeaks++

8. WOO

The official governance token for ++Wrestling Organization Online++. Market Cap: $31,299; Issuer: ++@WrestOrgOnline++

9. LOLZ

A Hive ++community engagement token++ designed to reward users for having a sense of humor. Market Cap: $24,158; ++@lolztoken++

10. PIZZA

The social token for the thriving ++Pizza community++ on the Hive blockchain. Users can stake the token, play in liquidity pools, and tip others with their tokens. Market Cap: $22,499; Issuer: ++@pizzaexpress++

The token for the ++Neoxian City community++, a general content platform focused on quality. Market Cap: $15,790; Issuer: ++@neoxian++
