Rising Star: Why an Extensive Card Collection Pays

avatar

There is an aspect to Rising Star that is often overlooked except by the top of the top. Some people have heard about, many don't really understand it.

That is the ability to earn a daily amount of passive income, SWAP.HIVE.

What Exactly?

Each day, a pool of 37 SWAP.HIVE is distributed to the top ranked accounts. Your ranking determines how much of that pool you receive.

To be eligible for daily rewards you must have completed at least one mission in the last seven days.

How is it Calculated?

The rankings and thus the rewards are calculated by weighting four areas:

Total Unique Cards: 40%
Total Cards: 30%
Total IM: 20%
Weekly Minutes Played: 10%

By looking at the four areas and the weighting for each, you can determine that the most efficient way of raising your ranking is by the total number of unique cards you have. Closely followed by the number of cards you have total. This is how an extensive and complete collection pays dividends, literally.

My personal strategy is to hunt through the marketplace looking for cheap and discontinued cards that I don't have yet.

It is important to note that cards that are in storage or listed on the market for sale do not count towards your ranking score.

Be aware that the ranking leader board is not a 100% live document and that a snapshot is taken once a day to update the rankings

I also have been trying to pick up cards I don’t have yet and have almost all of the common people cards except 2. It will take awhile to save up for the rare ones!

Yeah, it's good to pick away at it little by little.

Well, over 200 unique cards and a few hundred cards in total is something that isn't achievable for everyone. And the big accounts aren't sleeping. But it is definitely a goal to go for! Thanks for this post and puttng some light on this aspect of the game!

Cheers,

I agree. It is something to work towards right. It was more exposure for people who didn't know or who didn't quite understand.
