Today, I will share a battle that has the essence of strategy meets high power against a foe who did not see what was coming.

Without further ado, let's begin!

Battle Conditions

The mana cap is 59 and there are 5 summoners to choose from: Fire, Water, Life, Death, and Dragon.

Battle Rules:-

  • Rise of the commons: Only rare or common monsters may be summoned.
  • Odd ones out: Monsters with odd mana cost can be summoned only.
  • Melee Mayhem: Melee monsters can attack from any position.

Keeping the mana cap, available summoners, and battle rules in mind, I decide to pick the summoner that owuld give me high level monster class with fair mana cost. My opposition also went with the same pick, it is the Death Summoner: Thaddius Brood.

Let's start the deck deconstruction from my side:

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and magic damage for all enemy units by 1)(Level 5)

Tank: Queen of Crows(Ability: Close Range).

Melee Attackers: Disintegrator(Ability: Demoralize, Trample), Possessed Puppet(Ability: Double strike), Silent Sha-vi(Ability: Sneak, Cripple), Night Ghoul(Ability: Trample).

Ranged Attackers: Dhampir Stalker(Ability: True Strike, Deathblow).

My strategy was to divert all incoming damage toward my Ghoul while putting out a consistent high damage toward his deck from the front and used Sha-vi to cover the back of his deck as I expected him to use ranged attackers in the back while using melee attackers in the front. I used Stalker in the middle of my deck as an assurance for dealing a constant damage of 4 as my tank could miss it's shots due to low speed. I used 1 demoralize user behind the tank to reduce the overall incoming melee damage.

My overall damage per round is 22 with no healing and cost me 46 mana.

Now for the opposition's turn:

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and magic damage for all enemy units by 1)(Level 3)

Tank: Disintegrator(Ability: Demonralize).

Melee Attackers: Carrion Shade(Ability: Flying), Silent Sha-vi(Abilty: Sneak).

Magic Attacker: Life Sapper(Ability: Leech).

Ranged Attackers: Soul Strangler(No Ability), Dhampir Stalker(Ability: True Strike).

His strategy was to reduce the incoming melee damage and to attack me from the front and back. He used a magic attacker that would sap in HP after it damages my unit. He used low mana cost monsters and had an ideal deck setup as one should line up thier monsters for battle.

His overall damage per round is 13 with 1 HP increase. His mana cost is 26.

In the final third of the round, his tank fell which restored my full damage ouput per round while my Ghoul suffered considerable damages.

Near the final moments of the round, his second monster fell making it a 6 v 4 with me on a huge advantage.

And in the final turn of the round, his Sha-vi fell to my Ghoul to what was a 1-hit strike.

Round 2

At the start of the round, his Stalker fell thanks to my Sha-vi and so his units were clinching to their last drops of HP.

After half the round passed, his Sapper's life was gone thank to my possessed doll.

At the end of the round, his Soul Strangler's soul was swept out of the round.

Results

This was probably one of the fastest games in the gold leagues I have played in. Clearly, my opposition had the right motif when he headed into battle but evidently he did not have the right monsters nor the class of the monsters he had used this round. This is why renting cards is much more beneficial since you get to farm more rewards through monsters that would cost less than a dime.
