This is a post to the Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! I regularly post strategies on thematic rules to keep my mind clear and to help you in your battles. Now, this time, the challenge is Up Close and Personal. What will be important are the abilities related to melee attacks such as Thorns, Retaliate, Shield, Demoralize, etc. I think that melee attack + magic attack or ranged attack is also important to keep in mind. Now, I am looking forward to seeing how the battle will turn out!

Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! への投稿です。自分の頭の整理にもなりますし、皆さんのバトルの参考となることを目的にテーマとなるルールについての戦略を定期的に投稿しています。さて、今回のチャレンジはUp Close and Personalです。重要になるのは Thorns, Retaliate, Shield, Demoralizeなどの近接攻撃に関係するアビリティーですね。近接攻撃+魔法攻撃or遠距離攻撃もおさえておきたいポイントかと思います。どのように戦いますか?みていきましょう。


✈︎My epic match

Here are the rules for this battle.
In addition to Up Close and Personal, the rules set includes Aim True and Explosive Weaponry. The Mana cap is 56. Fire and Water elements are available. The League is a modern diamond.

今回取り上げるバトルのルールはこちら。Up Close and Personalに加えて、Aim TrueとExplosive Weaponryのルールセット。マナキャプは56。FireとWaterのエレメントが使用可能です。リーグはモダンダイヤモンドです。

The points that we consider important for each rule are listed below.
Aim True: Speed is important but no evasive strategy. Attack power and number of attacks are more important.
Explosive Weaponry: This needs to be well protected. In other words, units with Reflection Shield are important. I have a FEREXIAN HERO, although it does not have reflection shield until level 3.
Up Close and Personal: It is important to choose and deploy abilities efficiently, paying attention to counterattacks by Thorns and Retaliate, and aggressiveness.

各ルールで重要と思うポイントを記載します。
Aim True:スピードは重要ではあるものの回避戦略は取れない。攻撃力と手数がより重要。
Explosive Weaponry:これはしっかり対策が必要。つまり、Reflection Shield持ちのユニットが重要。そしてそのユニットはかなり限られる。4体だけかな。FEREXIAN HEROはレベル3にならないとReflection Shieldは付かないけど私は持っている。
Up Close and Personal:ThornsやRetaliateによる反撃、攻撃力に注意しつつ、いかに無駄なくアビリティを選択し、配置するかが重要。

✈︎What strategy did I come up with?

First of all, I was confused about the choice of samoner, JACEK or WISE. But this time, the attack was a must-hit. I chose POSSIBILUS THE WISE, giving priority to the number of attacks by Trample and Reach over speed, while thinking of the units that could be used for each. I also thought that the plus 2 of physical strength would be advantageous in terms of durability against Blast. I decided to make the best use of Trample and Reach, while considering the composition of the team to prevent blasts.

まずサモナー選択、JACEKかWISEで迷った。でも今回攻撃は必中である。それぞれ使えるユニットを頭に浮かべながら、スピードよりTrampleとReachによる攻撃回数を優先し、POSSIBILUS THE WISEを選択した。体力プラス2もBlastに対する耐久力で有利と考えた。あとはTrampleとReachを最大限活用しつつ、Blast対策を意識して構成を考えていこうと決めた。

The attack is exhilarating and I often like to use this samoner. However, it is important to note that because of its inferior speed, it often loses because its attacks do not hit the target. But this time, I don't have to worry about that because it is a must-hit. I hope you will give full play to its attack performance!
攻撃が爽快で私はよく使いたくなるサモナー。しかしスピードが相手より劣ることで攻撃が当たらず負けることも多い印象なのは注意点。でも今回は必中のためその心配はない。その攻撃性能を存分に発揮してくれ!
Shield thickness and Enrage, Retaliate abilities are ideal for vanguard in close combat. I'm sure the opponent will choose Water and use the same unit - but what other choice is there?
シールドの厚さとEnrage, Retaliateのアビリティーは近接戦の前衛に最適。相手もきっとWaterを選択して同じユニットを使ってくるよなー、でもこれ以外選択肢はないか。
I'd put Reflection Shield in, but RUNI wouldn't be here, and the other units are too low mana, so I decided on you, the bear who can increase the overall resistance with Protect!
Reflection Shieldを入れたいところだけどRUNIはここじゃないだろう、かと言って他のユニットでは低マナすぎる。Protectで全体の耐力を上げられる熊、君に決めた!
The unit cannot attack first, but the goal is to lower the opponent's attack with Demoralize. It is expected that this unit will be used in the same way by the opponent.
ここは最初に攻撃することができないユニットだけど、Demoralizeで相手の攻撃を下げるのが目的。このユニットも相手も同じように使用してくることが想定される。
This deep-sea fish is also an essential unit. Opportunity, Poison, and Demoralize are all effective abilities. It is no exaggeration to say that you should choose Water because of this unit.
この深海魚は必須要員である。Opportunity, Poison, Demoralizeどれも効果的なアビリティ。このユニットがいるからWaterを選択すると言っても過言ではないだろう。こちらも相手も同様に使用しているくるだろう。
This is another essential unit as a countermeasure against Blast. The composition is almost decided by all the essential units. This is the best placement because it is possible to attack with Opportunity even without Reach. It also has Reflection Dhield, so it can be used against Thorns.
これもBlast対策として必須ユニット。なんだか必須だなと思うユニットばかりで使用されるユニットがほぼ決まってくる。相手も確実に使用してくることが想定される。ReachがなくてもOpportunityで攻撃可能なためこの配置がベストだろう。さらにReflection Dhield持ちのためThorns対策にもなる。
Collect attacks with Blast countermeasures and give counterattacks with Thorns. The key unit in this configuration will play a decoy role to make the most of the others. He will be defeated without a single attack. I'm sorry to use it in this way, COEURL. But please forgive me, for I am sure that I will be praised as the most active unit in this battle.
Blast対策で攻撃を集め、Thornsでの反撃を与える。今回の構成の要となるユニットで、他を活かすための囮役をしてもらう。一度も攻撃をすることなく倒されるであろう。こんな使い方をしてごめんよクァール。でもきっと一番活躍したユニットとして称されることになるから許しておくれ。

As I expected, the opponents also had similar compositions: RUNI, DEEPLURKER, DISINTEGRATOR, and DIEMONSHARK as expected. That is to say, they are almost the same. But COEURL, whose composition made a difference, was very effective. COEURL, you are the MVP of this battle! Look forward to the next round!

やはり相手も同じような構成をしてきた。RUNI, DEEPLURKER, DISINTEGRATOR, DIEMONSHARKは想定通り。そりゃ大体同じになりますよね。でも構成で違いの出たCOEURLは効果抜群でしたね。COEURL、君がこのバトルのMVPだ!次回もお楽しみに!
