Pixel Art Chaos Golem šāšØ Splinterlands Art Contest Week 324
Pixelart Chaos Golem - Splinterlands
Welcome to another post on #AlienArtHive.
This is my entry for this weekās Splinterlands Art Contest, promoted by @Splinterlands, for Week 324. This time, I chose to draw inspiration from the creature Chaos Golem. It seems to belong to the same world/race as the one I worked on previously.

I was a bit short on time this time around and was worried I wouldnāt be able to submit my entry on time, so I tried to focus only on the most important details. I could have worked more on the purple lighting, like I did with the previous one.
For those following my creative journey, you know Iām reconnecting with the world of #pixelart. Itās a mix of nostalgia and creative challenges that I absolutely love. This is officially the third piece I feel is worthy of sharing. Would you say Iām improving?
Step-by-Step
I started, as always, with the base basically a blur of pixels that gradually took shape. Itās always funny to look at the initial sketch and think, "What a mess is this? And how am I going to turn this into something decent?" But itās all part of the process.
Once the silhouette was ready, I focused on highlighting where the light should hit the Chaos Golem. This time, I decided to give him a more relaxed position, without the big axe. Just him with his hands behind his back. Then, it was time to add some color and perspective to my creation.
However, I realized that I underestimated the importance of stronger outlines. In this piece, I opted not to use bold outlines, and I think this made the character blend more into the background.
Colors and Finishing Touches
Here comes the challenging part when youāre short on time like I was: shading. Thereās always that moment when it feels like Iām shifting the focus or something like that, as if Iām trying to shade both sides, but itās just in my head, right?
As I mentioned earlier, I wish I had more time to work on the lighting for the eyes in its belly. I might have added some purple particles emanating from them. I could tweak it a bit while writing this text, but I just forgot to save the file in an editable, layered format. Yes, I only saved it as an expanded 600x version, so editing it is impossible for pixel art.
