Lord Thanalor's Last Stand⚔️ - An Incredible 4 vs 1 Victory!!!😲

Picture this: you're alone on the Splinterlands battlefield. All your allied units have been knocked out of the fight, and you find yourself face to face with four opposing units. It seems that all hope is lost. You feel like giving up, but then you remember you are no ordinary elf. You are Lord Thanalor, the ruler of the Kingdom of Thanaloria, and you will do whatever is necessary to protect your kingdom. You summon all your power and somehow manage to win a 4:1 fight againt the Death splinter. In today's post, I'll recount this epic tale for the ages!

Who Is Lord Thanalor??

Before jumping into the battle analysis, I want to take a minute or two to introduce Lord Thanalor and some of his abilities. Lord Thanalor is an Epic Elf from the Earth Splinter. Even at the 1 BCX level, he is an absolute powerhouse with some pretty impressive stats.

This impressive stat line makes Lord Thanalor a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. The high speed means that it can usually attack first in each round, and the high health and armor means that it's very resistant to melee, magic, and ranged attacks.

The Situation Looked Bleak

As I alluded to in the introduction of the post, I recently had a really tough Splinterlands match where all of my other units had been eliminated, and Lord Thanalor was my last hope for victory. By the end of the third round, my opponent had four separate units left: Sorrow Harvester, Dark Arborist, Arachne Weaver, and Silverleaf Warlock. As much as I try to root for my team, I thought that the battle was a loss, and I was about to give up....but Lord Thanalor wasn't ready to quit just yet.

The Tide Turns

At the start of Round 4 Lord Thanalor used his strong magic attack to score a one hit KO on the opponent's Sorrow Harvester. This provided a two-for-one benefit. On one hand, it eliminated an opposing unit, but it also removed the weakened ability from the battlefield and allowed Lord Thanalor to recover one of his own health.

At the start of Round 5, Lord Thanalor launched a three magic attack against Dark Arborist. Normally, this wouldn't have taken it out of the fight. However, I was using Kaylia Silverleaf as my archon, which meant that Lord Thanalor triggered the execute ability, conducted a second attack, and also eliminated Dark Arborist from the fight.

Lord Thanalor's high speed him to get in the first attack at the start of round 6 and eliminate Arachne Weaver.

At the start of Round 7, Lord Thanalor launched the final magic attack of the match and eliminated Silverleaf Warlock to secure the win!!

Analyzing The Victory

As the dust settled on the battlefield, it was clear that Lord Thanalor had emerged victorious and vanquished all of his foes. As much as I like winning matches, I also like understanding why I was victorious, and I think there are three key ingredients that helped Lord Thanalor succeed on the battlefield.

• His high speed allowed him to strike first on when it mattered most.
• Pairing him with Kaylia gave him the execute ability which allowed him to "finish off" the opponent's units once they started getting low on health.
• Kaylia also gave a -1 magic debuff to the opponent's magic units which limited the amount of damage Lord Thanalor received and allowed him to stay in the fight longer.
