DOCTOR BLIGHT MADE MORE OP WITH BORN AGAIN RULESET

Monster Focus

For this week's Social Media Challenge, I want to showcase DOCTOR BLIGHT, a monster that I believe is incredibly powerful and deserves the title of being Overpowered (OP). It's a monster that I truly admire and hope to acquire someday 🙏 Unfortunately, I missed out on obtaining it during the Promo Airdrop period, and currently, acquiring it from the market is beyond my budget 😭 However, I strongly believe that Doctor Blight is a versatile utility monster due to it being a Neutral Splinter, allowing it to fit seamlessly into any lineup.

Ruleset Focus

BORN AGAIN, the latest ruleset that has been recently introduced, is undoubtedly a game-changer to keep an eye on. This ruleset grants all units the Rebirth ability, enabling them to self-resurrect once during battle. The introduction of this ruleset has had a profound impact on gameplay, as players have quickly recognized the immense power of combining the Rebirth ability with other abilities like Martyr and Scavenger.

The Battle

In my alt account, jimbei, I encountered a remarkable battle that perfectly exemplified the theme of this post, highlighting the synergies between the BORN AGAIN ruleset and the powerful DOCTOR BLIGHT with its Scavenger ability. This battle left me in awe of the incredible combination and its strategic implications. Such battles serve as a testament to the depth and complexity of gameplay when certain abilities and rulesets are brought together harmoniously 😍

To get right into the action, the battle link can be found here. Otherwise, do read on as I go into more detail regarding the lineup and fight.

First up, let us run through the three rulesets in place. We have the BORN AGAIN ruleset which is the main highlight in today's post and was explained earlier on. Next, the Silenced Summoners ruleset restricts summoners from providing stat buffs, debuffs, or abilities. Lastly, we have the Equal Opportunity ruleset which I have showcased in last's week Battle Mage Secrets. The battle has a mana cap of 20, and only the Water and Life Splinters are banned.

Summoner, Quix The Devious

With the Silenced Summoners ruleset is in place, it is common to choose a summoner that does not provide any buffs, debuffs, or abilities, as they have the lowest mana cost. Unfortunately, I do not have such a summoner in my collection 😅 The next consideration would be the Splinter you wish to play in your lineup. Since Dragon Splinter is available for picking, players would usually choose it as it allows the use of both the Dragon and the other Splinter of choice.

First Position, Void Dragon

The Void Dragon is an excellent choice as a low mana cost tanker. Its Flying and Phase abilities, along with its high speed, give it a greater chance of evading all attack types: Melee, Range, and Magic. Additionally, its Void ability helps to mitigate the damage from Magic attacks even when they do hit. These qualities make the Void Dragon a resilient and effective tanker in battles 💪

Second Position, Venator Kinjo
Third Position, Naga Assassin

Selecting Venator Kinjo and Naga Assassin for their speed-enhancing abilities was a smart move. Venator Kinjo's Slow ability, combined with Naga Assassin's Swiftness ability, provides a significant boost to the overall speed of your lineup. This advantage becomes even more crucial in battles with the Equal Opportunity ruleset, where being faster can give you a strategic edge 😂

Fourth Position, Desert Dragon

The strategy setup by having the speed buffs was to make Desert Dragon shine in this battle. Since the Desert Dragon is equipped with high Melee damage and the Piercing ability, I was hoping that it would go on a killing spree by activating its Trample ability after defeating an opposing monster. This was made possible especially with the Equal Opportunity ruleset where the lowest health opposing monster would be targeted first 👊

Last Position, Corpse Fiend

Including the Corpse Fiend as a fodder unit given that I have 0 mana left after selecting the rest of the lineup. Since the Corpse Fiend has the lowest health amongst my line, it would be targeted first in the Equal Opportunity ruleset. Therefore, it was strategically placed in the last position in order to eliminate any risk of triggering any Trample ability that could potentially harm my team when the Corpse Fiend is defeated.

The Analysis

My strategy was focused on maximizing the speed and offensive power of my lineup, particularly leveraging the Opportunity ruleset to allow the Desert Dragon to swiftly eliminate opposing monsters and trigger its Trample ability. However, the opponent's effective utilization of the BORN AGAIN ruleset proved to be a game-changer which eventually overwhelmed my team, leading to their victory! 😖

With the Camouflage ability, DOCTOR BLIGHT was able to remain hidden in the backline, while benefiting from fallen units' health through the Scavenger ability. Given the BORN AGAIN ruleset, which allows units to self-resurrect, DOCTOR BLIGHT had the opportunity to gain health twice from fallen units throughout the battle. The remarkable outcome was an astounding accumulation of 17 health by the end of the battle. This made DOCTOR BLIGHT virtually untouchable, while still inflicting significant damage through the Poison ability 😇

The battle further solidified the desire to own a DOCTOR BLIGHT in my collection. The exceptional combination of abilities like Camouflage, Poison, and Scavenger, along with the BORN AGAIN ruleset, showcased the true potential of DOCTOR BLIGHT.

As though DOCTOR BLIGHT isn't OP enough, it is made even more formidable with the BORN AGAIN ruleset! 😵
