Why The SPS Market Cap Has Me Excited

In this video, I cover why the recent changes in SPS circulating supply and the corresponding updated market cap have me very excited for the future of SPS and Splinterlands.

For those who may not remember, the SPS DAO voted to mint the remaining SPS tokens and leave them in the DAO so we are now technically fully diluted with remaining supply locked up in the DAO until SPS stakeholders decide what to do with. We already have our reward pools - some of which will have to be addressed soon as they will be ending - but all in all the SPS market cap is currently sitting around $32M at the time of this post.

I compare this to many other projects in the crypto gaming space. Obviously, the market is down right now so most projects are struggling with a lower market cap, but you combine with a recent SPS pump for Conclave Arcana and all of sudden we are in the same range as top rated projects like Parallel ($PRIME), Big Time, and Illuvium - and therefore will be part of the conversation.

Once the market starts to rally a bit, that is where things could get exciting for SPS. If we can cover a lot of ground to be in the same peer group as top tier projects, that may attract attention when attention comes back to the space and we could ride the rally at the same intensity as other, more well known projects.

Nothing is guaranteed but I think for people who have stuck around in Splinterlands these last couple of years, this has to be one of the most exciting times in the game in recent memory. I'm looking forward to the craziness ahead!
