Friends are made out of the connection of being there for one another, having each other's back and getting the confident of being around such person or divulging things you may not even be able to say or discuss with people you see physically or even your relations.

True and genuine friends have that special bond that makes them have a kind of hold on one another and that's why when an act of betrayal sets in and there's a breach of trust, it feels so hard for such friend to move on and they feel hurt like being pierced with a sword.

Friendships are friendships without the comparative way of where we meet or how we meet or the circumstances surrounding the connection. Even though virtual friends can't replace physical friendships, it still doesn't dispute the fact that we can have great friends online without seeing at all or seeing later.

Back in the years of 2go been the active social media platform used by people, I made great friends that up till today, we still remain very good friends who would always look out for each other. I had some who did their part of friendship and left the circle and I still had some whom we sticked together like gummy twins. Funny enough, I haven't been able to meet some of them physically from 2011/2012 up till date due to the far distance and life but that doesn't change our strong bond of friendship.

Observing myself thoroughly, I feel like I get connected with friends very well virtually. I don't know why but that helps me build my friendship with them so well that even after meeting physically or not, our friendship still remains cool and I can say practically and frankly that I still share a larger part of me with my online friends than the little number of physical friends I have.

And aside the ME part, I'm sure we've had others who had their great and genuine friends online and not even face to face. Friends who would turn brothers and sisters, having to see one's vulnerability and be more or less like blood relations.

Will there be a difference if we had met offline? I would probably say YES because meeting these great people offline at first might not make us connect the way we are currently connected due to my shying act meeting people or my inability of mingling with people at first sight. It takes time for me to connect with people offline even though I'm a playful type but I guess I'm only playful and talkative when I'm close to you and feel safe around you.

However, in as much as the basic necessities of having friends are met, be it offline or online, I don't think there should be any withdrawal as to how and where we make such great friends. In all of the 200million+ people in my country, I'm beginning to think how many years I have to walk around or the number of places I have to visit to meet and make new friends and genuine ones at that.
I might at the same time become a sole and lonely person living all by myself since I don't really go out.

In conclusion, friendships can be made anywhere and online friends at times tends to become real and genuine friends even more than the physical ones you expected and predicted to give you the connection you so desire. One can't also replace the other either online or offline as It only depends on the one that works for an individual.
