Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - My First Glint Shopping!

Hello to all Splinterlands warriors!

Original Challenge announcement post is here

For this week's Splinterlands challenge, I've chosen to make my first glint purchase. The glint rewards I receive with SPS tokens for each battle won have increased enough to allow me to make some purchases. And since they say in their challenge post to post something nothing short of amazing, I waited so I could at least purchase a rare draw and extract some explosive cards from it. Its a good feeling to buy something with the currency that is earned in the game by playing and winning battles.

You all must be aware of the Glint Shop, but for players like me or even newer than me who don't know about the Glint Shop, I would like to tell you that for every battle you win, you get some random Glint token rewards along with SPS tokens, which keep increasing as your ranking increases. You can see this Glint reward on the Ranked Battle page itself, and right below it is the Shop button from where you can buy various rarity draws, which, on opening, give you random but exciting cards, which as far as I know you cannot trade, but these cards will be ready to be a part of your battles on the battleground. The shop is the place where we can use glint to buy different cards.

There's a lot more to this shop than just rarity draws, but I don't know much about them yet, so today we'll just talk about my experience with these draws. Since I'd earned a lot of Glint rewards by now, I could buy both common and rare draws in this section. So I bought two common and four rare draws. It's hard to believe, but I've extracted some pretty good cards from these draws.

Above are two Life element cards drawn from the common draw. One of these is the Range Attacker, which is undoubtedly good, but it would be even better if its speed were also 2 or 3. However, its attack power seems strong, although its cost isn't too high, and its health is decent. Additionally, it has the Snipe ability, which allows it to attack the first non-melee card behind the first position. However, how well it performs on the battleground will only be known after a few battles. Because I am trying to get familiar with more cards so adding more cards to the account is also going to be an addition to my learning in the game.

The other card drawn from the common draw isn't an attacker, and its other stats are also below average. However, its strongest feature is its Protect ability, which provides +2 armour to all allied cards. I don't know if this card can be used for anything else, but it would be a great addition to the rest of the army.

This shopping experience was completely new for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd especially like to inform all new players that you can unlock various rewards in the game by purchasing a Spellbook just once. Without purchasing or renting more powerful cards, your growth may be a little slower, but you still have many ways to add more powerful cards to your deck. As I earned these cards today, and the more I've played the game, I've realised that different cards are essential in different battle situations. I've even battled and won with seemingly basic cards, not because I didn't have better cards (thanks to @bravetofu ), but because the weather in this game constantly changes. :)

There are so many elements in the game, and I hope to slowly and gradually cover more and get involved as much as possible. This time I can say that its a game which is fun, but it needs time to learn and you just can not learn it in a day, a week or a month. Its a big, big game where we need to invest more time and people who are top players must have done it, I am very sure.

This is my little game knowledge. I may be wrong, and in that case, I will be happy to learn from you. Thank you! :)
