Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Battlefield Breakthroughs!
Hello to all Splinterlands warriors!
Original Challenge announcement post is here

In this post, I'll share a battle where I explored a new ruleset, which was quite exciting. This ruleset may not be new to you, as I don't think new rulesets are created every day. But as a new player, it was a new and exciting ruleset for me. It was called Melee Mayhem.
When I saw this ruleset, my eyes lit up. This ruleset allowed me to place melee units anywhere in this battle without any restrictions. And since I had several heavy melee units, especially in the Water element, I was excited, thinking I would win this battle.
I have several heavy melee units in my deck that I can't use together even if I wanted to, because the fundamental problem with melee attack power is that you can't place them anywhere other than the first position without some special abilities.
So until now, I was somewhat restricted in how I used them, but in this ruleset set I had the freedom to use all my melee units together and see the impact of their attacks. But sometimes, due to excessive freedom, our mind also gets spoiled, so it was a challenge for me to place these cards in the right place based on my limited knowledge.

As you can see, I placed my most powerful unit in the front. This unit, with its dodge ability, could evade enemy attacks by up to 25%. Behind it, another melee attacker with the shield ability, allowing it to protect itself somewhat from enemy melee attacks. In third place, another melee attacker with the heal ability. Then, a range attacker that would reduce the enemy team's speed by -1. Then a melee and another range attacker with the repair ability.
In my opinion, this was an amazing team with all the units being attackers and having special abilities, which makes them a power pack with great abilities like shield, healing, dodge, slow, enfeeble, close range, repair, etc. But this could also pose a significant threat if the enemy had one or more units with the Thorns ability.
This thought occurred to me after reaching the battlegrounds; otherwise, I would have included some magic attackers in my team. But thankfully, in this battle, the enemy also didn't pay much attention to this loophole in the ruleset.

The most interesting thing here is to see how it worked. My melee units were already heavily armed, and the range attackers were armed with the +2 range power from the Archon. Now, my team's Steppe Stalker reduced the enemy team's speed by -1 with his Slow ability, allowing all my units to perform attacks first in the battleground. The impact was so great that by the end of the first round, the enemy lost one unit, and another was almost on the verge of a knockout.

And this is the state of the battleground at the end of the second round. Not a single one of my units has been knocked out, and none have even suffered any major losses. The Slow ability prevented the enemy from performing their first attacks, allowing my cards to attack first. And since my cards had good attack power, they inflicted heavy damage to the enemy.
When you watch this battle, you'll see how I used my most powerful melee attackers against the enemy. However, as I said earlier, the outcome of this battle could have been reversed if the enemy had included units with the Thorns ability in their team, as Thorns are a strong opponent of melee attackers, so my units would have also suffered heavy damage.
I believe that every battle is a kind of opportunity for us to enjoy the game and also learn some different tips and tricks so that we can play better next time. As I learned this time, I should have considered the possibility of Thorns units on the enemy side when selecting my team.
You know what, sometimes when I lose the battle, then I replay the same and I try to find out what went wrong and what good could have done to avoid this Situation on the battleground. And I would also advise all of you to watch your battles in repeat mode and learn a lot from your own mistakes. I'm hopeful that over a period of time, I will improve my win rate.
This is my little game knowledge. I may be wrong, and in that case, I will be happy to learn from all of you. Thank you! :)
