My first Pre-launched gameplay for the Quest For Stoken game - follow me let's explore the game

Greetings to all and sundry on this great platform, I am very excited to write and participate in this great contest. I am a gamer and a lover of games, immediately I saw this, I said to myself there is no way I would miss playing this game. I gave it a try and would be sharing with you my gameplay and a video link as well here in this post. The link to the contest is also shared here in this post. Contest Link.

General Overview of Quest For Stoken 2D Game

This is a 2D blockchain game, that is created and designed by the skate-hive community. It is a blockchain game aiming to promote a play-to-earn mode system as time goes on. This is a prelaunch phase
of the game. I think they are allowing people to have a look at how the game would be and also if they are improvements needed to be added. It can be done as quickly as possible before the actual launch.

Apart from Skatehive, Quest For Stoken is also supported by Gnars DAO in developing the game.

It involves the use of a player that is hovering on a skateboard holding a sword as a weapon. The sword is needed because as you travel throughout the journey moving from city to city, you would be meeting aliens and other monsters on your way and you then use your sword to fight against them.

It is also one of the plans of Skitehive and Ginars DAO, that at the end of the year, the game would be a play-to-earn with the integration of Hive social blockchain. This is going to be very interesting guys just link your hive account and then play to earn. I am looking forward to that development soon.

Before, I start with anything let's look at the control keys for playing this game. I started as a novice in this game but as you move forward, there are guidelines and hints that show you the keys to what to do. The following includes the keys and their functions.

Keys	Functions
A	the A key allows one to move or skate to the left or backward
D	the D key allows one to move or skate to the right or forward
Space bar	It is responsible for jumping on the skate
X	this is one of the important keys, it helps one to open bonfires, and also open crypto wallets
Shift	this is also responsible for fighting against aliens or any enemy that you meet on your way
Right click	this kills your player immediately without even being attacked
Z	this key is used to bring out a shield as protection
R	the R key allows one to restart the game at any point in time

First of all, when you click on the game link, the image below is what appears but in a form of a GIF. Below also is a link to their Discord channel which I have already joined before playing this game. Also, we can see the new development that they want to add hive as a way of logging into the game that is the integration I was talking about earlier in this post.

In order to start playing the game or to enter into the game-playing section, you just click on Space Bar as indicated at the right-down corner from the first screenshot shown above.

Immediately after clicking on the space bar, the game launches, and a screenshot of the first game interface is provided below. We can see the player on a board skate and also holding a giant sword. Also, we can see a place where it is written Press the Up arrow.

The game then starts from there immediately. As I started playing, when I got to that place where it says press up, I clicked on the up arrow key from the keyboard and it pops up that Double Jump to do that, you double press the space bar key, and your player double jumps.

Continuing from there, I went further forward and got to another click-up arrow icon, which I did and it states that I click on the X key to light bonfires. When bonfires are lighted up, it opens coins for the player to collect. Just by moving forward small, we see the bonfire which we then click the X button to light it up and the coins all drop out.

From there, I continued my journey in the game, and I got to another similar icon, but this time around it says, click shift to attack. This drew my attention to the fact that there are some enemies or aliens around of I would be fighting against in this game.

Without moving much forward, I saw one of the aliens which started attacking and I started clicking on the shift key to attack back in three or more hits I was able to kill that alien but then my player's life was reduced as well.

That was a cool fight, by the way, hehe, I started to have an interest in the game when I won my first fight. I continued with my journey and I got to a place where the icon says Send. I didn't understand that in the first place so I realized that was the only way to move forward so I had to jump higher in order to settle at a safer place. I moved back and run speed then performed a double jump so as to land safely.

In my first attempt, I felt wrong and I died but I the next attempt I made sure to land at the right place. Moving forward what I realized was that I entered the next city of the game.

From the above screenshot indicated shows the look of the next city as we can see features from the previous. Okay, let's now explore the next city and see what is available for us. As I moved forward, I had bonfires which I looted from it to earn some coins and continued my journey.

As I was playing and hustling hard to find my way out of that city, I met a bird that I taught was friendly but unfortunately, it killed me sadly. I killed two aliens before reaching that bird and by then I have exhausted one of my extra lives before getting there. I was left with two extra lives to go, so I need to be careful.

As I was trying to find my way out, those two evil birds decided to finish my life in that place. They killed me the first time and I came back and a similar situation occurred again. What I saw next was the Game Over notification.

Some of the Challenges I faced when playing the game

Okay, actually the game doesn't have many challenges to say but one thing that was distracting me was when I was attacking my enemy with the continuous hitting of the Shift key until I had to switch the toggle keys off before it normalized.

Also, I realized the game the wasn't having a pause menu that one can enter in case of an emergency. Because of that, you can get killed for leaving the game to attend to any urgent call whatsoever.

Again, we can see that there are no extra menu options apart from the "press space bar" option that allows you to enter the game. I suggested more options like game settings, controller settings, etc, are worked on or included so as to make things easier before entering into the game. Because if you look at how you have to enter into a game before learning the keys of how to play isn't much encouraging and appreciative. It is mostly recommended to learn the keys to play a certain game before entering fully into the game.

Finally, I really enjoyed playing the game I must say, but I think if things go as planned that is the integration of hive with the game and also making it a play-to-earn platform, it would have been among one of the best blockchain games.

I also recommend that a feature that would allow a player to continue from a certain city is put in place so as to prevent players from starting at the first city again whenever they are gamed over. As this is just the first phase, I think this project would really go far and bring a lot of fun onto the hive platform and blockchain gaming at large.
