Under My Nose

Being the friendly type cost me some losses that I can never forget in the history of my life.

Rita has been an excellent friend of mine since I was still in the university. I love to create content and post online without knowing the values. Monica was also part of us, and the three of us trusted ourselves to a tangible length or extent.

After creating content one fateful day, I posted it, and I had so many views and followers added to the ones I had before. After some months, Rita started creating her content online, while Monica followed suit. It was so great to see the three of us with different kinds of content being created online.

Fauxels
One fateful day, a man messaged me online and said he loved the kind of content I always created. He asked if I would be able to create content just to make his businesses grow faster, and I told him I would give him feedback.

I told my friends, and they were so happy for me. The three of them knew the password to my phone and all my social media platforms, since I trusted them so much.

I had to log in again and chat this man up, and we mutually agreed on this job. He sent me every detail I needed to know about the content I was about to create for him. I gave him my price, and it was not a huge amount of money since I was not so drawn in by the way they create content online, especially the billing aspect of it. Mine was just to create and post without knowing if it could generate income.

He accepted the token I mentioned, which made me so excited. I told my friends about it, and they were so happy for me.

I started the job and got it finished without wasting any time. It took me up to two days to get the job done. I dropped my phone and laptop and left for a crucial call. I only went with my small phone, leaving my smartphone behind.

After a few minutes, I came back and chatted with this man, but he did not respond. I tried several ways just to chat him up before sending him the job, but he kept mute without replying to my chat. Two days later, he replied to me and said he was I apologise for not replying. I asked him if I should send the job, but he said he had received it from someone who claimed it was me. I was mad and was not happy throughout that day. What I failed to ask was the account that sent him the job.

I told my friends about it, and they were like, “Who would have done this?” We were so angry, but then I kept wondering who might have done that act.

“How come my work was stolen when I did not give my phone or laptop to anyone?” This was the question that I kept asking myself.

A month later, the same man chatted me up and said he was going to send me some jobs. I was not ready to ask him to tell me the name of the user who had done the previous job. I only said I would do the job. He sent me the topic of the content I was going to create. We also bargain on the price.

I told my friends about it, and they were happy. I started the job without letting myself lose this time.

After completing the job, I had to copy and paste it into a folder that I had locked. No one knew the password of that app. I later changed so many things from the original one so that it would look like a presentation. I had to bring the top to the bottom. Likewise, I did it in a way that everything would look perfect.

Two days later, I had to leave my laptop open. I had been waiting for this gentleman to chat just as usual.

Finally, he replied to me on Facebook and said the job had been done by the same one. I asked him to hold on and that the job that person did was not correct. I asked the man to go through it and give me feedback. He did give me feedback, and I sent the job to him. I don't know what happened next, but Monica was just frowning throughout that day. I asked her, but she said everything was fine. Not only that, but I knew that her problem was the job she had stolen from me, which went the other way around.

I later told them that the man had accepted my job and was so happy. On the other hand, he had not sent a dime to the one who had stolen my work.

Without being told, it was showing on Monica's face that she had done something awful. I later adjusted the way I gave out my password. From that day on, I had to change the password on both my laptop and smartphone, as no one would be trusted any more.

And from that moment on, those girls were never your friends! You can't trust people like that, so it's better not to consider her trustworthy. Regards
