Book Review: Good to Great

In this chapter, “Good is the enemy of great,” I got to understand that so many companies or business organizations started so small. After a few years, they would find themselves as good.
Also, conducting research should always be in the field of the little ones who want to become good, but not those who have made it to greatness. Most companies or businesses are great overnight or at the start, just because of the way they started. They might have backups from a reputable financial machine.

Most times, we ask questions out of curiosity, and if those questions come to fruition, they would serve as eye-openers to humanity. The author is someone who loves and has the agility to ask questions out of curiosity for a proper research moment. On normal ground, your research can only work out for you if and only if you can ask questions out of curiosity. From being curious, one can get the best research ever. The author’s research is just for one to go from chaos to concept.

Of course, you can’t have a dream without facts. This means that, with your dreams, without facts, it is useless.

Chapter two spoke about level five leadership, which, according to the writer, referred to “a five-level hierarchy of executive capabilities with level 5 at the top.” This level of leadership set up their successors to become more successful.

For the third chapter, I was made to understand that those who made it great only have to find people who are competent to drive them to the top, but not those who can take them backward, or those who can kill the zeal or spirit of greatness in them.

First, who will you want to take or choose to become your overall that cannot stand a chance of taking you down? This is the best question to ask while starting up from small to good and to great. When this is done, then you need to ask yourself again, “What's next to drive me to the next level of the ladder?”

You may not become successful with a thousand workers of low working skills but will be successful if you have fewer workers with high-level skills. Also, it must be about who we are paying. We should also erase our minds from what we are paying them. You pay those who are competent and can take your business or company to a greater level, but not those who can drain you to the last level of your life.

The author, Jim Collins, showed us the path to succeed in any form of business. He made us understand that even when you start small, you can still make it to a greater height.

If I’m to rate him with other kinds of authors, he had tried so hard to earn 9 out of 10. Everything he said in this book is useful for humanity to grow, or to make our businesses grow.

Read this book from beginning to end, and I promise your business strategy will change. It will also make your business grow exceedingly.
